Couldn't find the new MoM expansion ..

Went to Best Buy after work at 8:30pm to buy new Mines of Moria expansion, and there weren't any.  Drive to Future Shop, same result.  It's now 9:00pm and all stores are closed

I  was kind of shocked considering I saw plenty of boxes of Tabula Rasa & Hell Gate London lol.  I  even asked the employee if he knew he was selling games that are shutting down in a month or two, and he says the bosses will sell em till the day they actually shut down.  Little unethical, but legal  I guess.

Anyways, I'm off to EB Games tomorrow morning, hope they got the game.  I would download it, but I rather just have the box ... just a preference I guess.

Any kinships on Brandywine want to take a new Minstrell by the way?

Sorry to hear about your bad luck brotha! :(

I just got back from Walmart where they had about 5 copies left.. I'm installing the game now as we speak! I kinda wish there was an option to purchase the mines of moria expansion alone since i stil have the old LOTRO box from over a year ago, *sigh* ahh well, hopefully this time around I'll have a change of heart and will enjoy the game!

I was one of those gamers that left a game after investing alot of time with it only to quit LOTRO due to some small issues. Now I'm willing to open my mind and hopefully enjoy this game for what it is.

IIRC, you pay $10 more for the box.

    I d/l it to save the $10  :)

You know where boxes end up eventually?  The trash or recycling.  And the disks become instantly useless after the first install because if you ever have to re-install later it's quicker to just download the latest and most up to date client than to re-install and go throught the painful patching process.

Just log in to http://myaccount.turbine.com and click the Upgrade link and be done with it.

I'd rather have the discs, makes it easier to install on a new computer.

Also, my ISP speed caps me. It would have taken me literally a week (or more) to download Moria. Heck, it took a week just to patch the base game when I got that, and I never did update the hi-res textures.

This is absolutely ridiculous.  Future Shop, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Eb games all do not have this game anymore.  They all said they don't know what's happening with it, and it's really making me not even want to try it anymore.  How can Turbine release an expansion 3 weeks ago and all of these large retailers not have any stock?

Is the population healthy in this game?  All the forums I've read point to yes ... yet i'm quite dissapointed that I can't even buy  the freagin box.  And I don't want to download it because I have a maximum amount of downloads per month, and the shear size of this game would put me over the top in those regards.

Let me know if anyone has had this same problem ...

By the way, does Turbine even realize this is the holiday season?

Ok, are you really serious? [edited for snarkiness]

It is more than probable that it was very successful and they are out of them.

I don't know where you live but Best Buy, Micro Center and EB Games and Game Stop have plenty of copies. So if you don't live near a major city then that could be the reason.

You can always order it online or just do the download (though quite frankly I think having the disks and patching it IS faster,  I have never found downloading the complete game faster.

Your'e not being able to buy the game probably means that it is in high demand which could also attest to the quality.

Yeah base your opinion on a game from someone at gamestop, bestbuy, etc, etc.

Join the 21st century and do a digital download of the game.   Saves  you money and saves a tree or two.

LOTRO  is doing great, far better than AOC and WAR.   The population is jumping and most of the playerbase is extremely happy.

Well, unfortunately, many people are still stuck in the 20th century in terms of internet. Not every has fast, unlimited connections to it.  For those of us with caps, digital download is simply not an option for large games. (And most of us that are stuck with ISPs that have caps, do so because it's the only option for broadband, period).

Around here, in Sac, CA... Frys had a big stack of Mines of Moria, and Gamestop had one or two copies left, and the Best Buy has a couple copies here as well...so im not sure what the issue is with your stores... if anything, try buying it online?
