It's like a religion to some.

Now let's have a new website: for those who are addicted to hating Wow.

    LOL

I don't think anyone is addicted to hating WoW.

Personally were all just tired of having every damn game try to copy wow (failing of course).

If game developers would just try to make a unique game wow wouldnt get the shit it does on game forums.

Funny thing is everyone seems to blame wow for everything, when they should be blaming these new game developers for recreating a game that most players like myself have played to death.

WoW has its place, we just dont want thirty version of WoW.

Some might find this funny but the truth is that it really isn't.

There are now probably well over million WOW addicts out there - even alot more depending on how you interprate the term addiction.

What most ppl do not realise is that many games and specially MMO games are created with a special formula in mind.  It doesn't effect everyone ofc - but when it comes to games it is alot more serious than most ppl realise.  And the most serious part is - that the devs do this on purpose...   This is what drives ppl to pay for a game...

Now - lets talk about addiction for a sec...  Did you know that you can be considered an addict if you think about certain things 5 - 10 or more times per day ?  Do you think about WOW that often while in school or at work ?   Do you think about washing the dishes or driving your car that often per day?

    Just think about it....

Addiction doesn't become serious until it starts to affect your day to day routine.  When something you are doing starts to have DESTRUCTIVE effects of other parts of every day life.  But the thing is - the addict does not admit it is having destructive effects - cause he is actually feeling exactly the oposite.

But what is causing ppl to get addicted - specially to MMO games ?  Play one and you will realise it... Every MMO game out there is built around an ingame reward system.  It is goal driven and usually the goals at start are easy to acomplish but become harder and harder - or take more and more time.   Sadly alot of ppl dont realise when the actual addictive part starts.

"My ex wife "cheated" on me with a guy she met on this game. I played too, but I guess I just wasn't willing to spend every waking hour playing and it wasn't good enough for her. The worst was 2 months sitting a room away before the divorce listening to her telling him she loved him on vent."

    Well,

Playing Borehammer, Age of Crap, Lord of the bored Copy didn't have any addiction influence on me .

I got a skin disease though in trying to play these games.

    Is that serious? Please help.

While this is unfortunate, i think this is more a personality trait of the people than a game created by the devil.  Its not Mc Donalds fault that they make a hamburger that is really good and easy to aquire, that make some people fat cause they eat 3 at sitting with super sized fries.   Perhaps Bliz should add a few bugs and lower the whole overall quality of the game?  I guess at some point people should take accountability for there actions...

I actually think Eve has made me a freaking psycho. Imagine playing a game and at any time you could lose years of progress and hundreds of hours of farming currency.  Maybe I should take sometime off of eve.

I was much more sane when I played WoW, imo

Btw i showed my wife what I typed and all she said was...... "shit, I'm not stupid. you will kill me if i cheat"

They could hire some ex-Funcom developers, to design new content for them!
