atlantica online. downloaded the game just as a one off as im not that keen on F2P but was pleasantly suprised to what i found i enjoyed the game thoroughly the community seems quite freindly and people were on hand to assist in lower phaseS. In no more than 2 minutes being logged in someone gave me 10,000 money. thought i'd leave me 2 scents among the sea of negativity that is MMORPG.COM

have to wait and see what else there is todo as I say I havent played much but will definatly be picking up a bit after work tonight.

my avatars name is fusionx212 drop me a line if you're playing later i'll reply.

For an F2P the community is surprisingly good in this game....... Its too bad so many players on MMORPG.com have so many prejudices against games like this but it is their loss...... The great thing about Atlantica is that it keeps getting better and better as you get higher in level......Also AO is one of the few games that actually gives players incentive to help low level players and you will find that out when you get above level 40......

I'm glad that you found Atlantica to be a pleasant game, what i do not know is why other people did not liked this game.. u will find it more exciting when you go on through the game and rest assured that you are going to get bored

Well i must say i am lvl 74 and i constantly give gifts of items and money to newbs. One reason... FREE EXP!...

after reaching lvl 30 you can give gift and get the equivalent on exp. Its a very fun way of geting experience. also if you mentor someone you get mentor points and when the aprentice reaches lvl 30 you get 200k gold. so yeah, helping noobs is a very profitable business.

yah people of antlantica are nice.. haha i mean the players.. the player gets experience for giving something or doing any help.. haha try it guys..

You can thank the Devs for the gifts.  While under level 30 you will recieve gifts from higher level players, since it gives them stamina, and exp (alot of exp in very late game like me).  The other day I gave 1 mil to a level 14 beginner, leveled up 2 of my mercs

PS, no you can't have any of my money.  I'm saving up to power level my sailor when I get her

Level 1 to level 50 in about a minute, just give a gift of 20 mil or so (yeah, I'm lazy and got extra money lol) 20 mil might seem like alot, but 100+ you can make alot of money.  mobs in the americas are full of phat lewt!

i've also tried giving gifts to starters and it really helps me in gaining some exp and i think it also recouperates your stamina as well. this really help specially when you guys get to higher levels.

The game has good community in large due to the tools devs had put in, like bonus party xp that works even if you are miles away from each other, the gift system, the peer chat, the friend list notification, the monster info trading, the socializing quests, you name it. It also feels like the asian players in the healthy international mix tend to be more polite that westerners and that the fellowship feel induced by beta still manages to linger.

But note that Atlantica has two faces. Pre 95 and post 95. The fun ride and the tedious grind. On my lvl 70 i am giving gifts whenever i feel like it, it helps me level up (at 70 it is measly xp but it was huge boost at 30-40) and I am getting gear drops quite frequently. On my lvl 100 i am much more cynical. I only give minimal alms of 1000 gold so the game allows me one more combat for today. I do not teach any craft because the xp for that goes from amazing to meaningless. I am not giving gear gifts as i am getting about two gear drops a playing session (no Gravarg, mobs are not full of phat loot, not at all in end game, just you and me are ahead of curve and can gouge the ones behind). I stopped to offer mentoring since devs never put in promised rewards.

    tyrrhon really? no rewards?? huhu

that's too bad.. maybe they arent able to check all of it..

i would just like to add that the experience you gain from giving items depends on the amount of the item in gold.. haha
