The x-fire peak population (at the weekends) seems to be stable for the last 3 weeks now, although the during the week it still seems to be decreasing very slightly.
Only the result of trash bin sales (20 dollars) these last 3 weeks to eliminate stock. Only watch the player numbers. 4500 max these days (15.000 at the end of Sep).
Watch the player figures again within a month. WAR is not meant to be played as a long term mmoRPG.
Do you WANT the game to fail?
If it does (doubt it) would you feel happy? Do you, as a WoW fanboi feel threatened by WAR's popularity? cause lets face it, you wouldn't still be lurking spreading 'doom' posts on these forums if it had already failed.
Also, what pushes you to be such a negative, pessimist person?
I always wondered what goes on in a troll's mind...
So many questions, I'm bored!
Yes he does...
Check his posts, he is psychotic about it. When MBJ, WAR's lead developer started getting death threats bodypass called him names - pretty amazing... contrasting this to "WOW's cool guitar-playing devs" that are the pinnacle of human evolution I suppose. He will do ANYTHING to put WAR, or any other game that isn't WoW, down. He and his ilk are the prime reason I and many other people don't post much on this site anymore.
It could be easily argued that you are just the mirror opposite.
Neither of those extremes does any sort of forum discussion any good.

Can it?
I'm not trolling other games forums how awesome "my" game is and how "their" game sucks. I'm quite critical of WAR when I don't feel the need to defend it from ridiculous psychos. Meh. As long as bodypass and his kind rule around here there is nothing to be gained by reading these forums except an ulcer.

Population looks like it's going up on the servers I play on in EU, both have tons of open world PVP even with level 1's who just made their chars running around in warbands having large fights (saw this just this morning when I made a DOK alt and noticed there was a full warband already up and running and fighting)
up agreed
patch 1.1 and release of 2 classes most important KOTBS has helped a lot It has brought the balance back in tier 1 and 2
Well 1.1 sure brought me back from retirement and maybe it had the same effect on others.
Also Goa startet the second phase of the char transfers yesterday and toooooons of people joined Karak Azgal (where i play) I have never seen oRvR like yesterday, it was amazing. Warbands activ in all pairings and huge(!!!) keep fights in KV. SC's pop all the time (all of them!) and plenty of PQ Requests.
To me, at the moment it's far more exciting than when i first got to T4
oh and by the way.. when i was in beta we were told that they are already working on the first expansion.. so might not be long before we hear the first rumours!
I am waiting for another game to just have servers without borders. I liked FFXI were I was playing with people from all over the world. Meant I could log on at 3am and find a group. Its 5pm and yup still loads of people playing. Sure there is a lanuage barrier but we over came it. I learned a lot of Japanese and improved what I had already known. Sure we Americans may recieve a hefty dose of gasp... Culture, but hey it really improved my gaming expirience and made it really feel like a larger community. If the European servers and US servers were launched as one we would not be having any of these issues.

I do not want the game to fail but it is. some people have to realise that this game has the most leakage in sub numbers ever. common knowledge the game is on it's knee's in EU. Xfire is now down to 4.1k in less than 3 months faster fall that any other game i know. quickest game after release to hit $10 i know of. latest patch helped but really they need an overhaul to fix it up properly.

It's doing better than that in North America, I think. Mythic probably ought not to have farmed the game out to GOA, but that's already happened -- I think that the way Mythic has handled the EU side of the game has been pretty shabby.

It is never a good thing when a company has to make excuses and apologies for their vendors before the game is even launched. I have to imagine Mythic was either in a situation where they had no other choice open to them than GOA or their quote was so crazy low that someone would have lost their job if they turned down the contract.

I love you tikovoo will you marry me so I have your awsome factless trolling to brighten my day everyday? Your not even playing the game, seeing the increases across all teirs and you've hated the game since before it even got near Launch...your affection for this game really turns me ...... OFF lol
BTW If it reallyw as such a Failure we'd see way more people than you with your fail hammer icon...sorry WAR is not a failure. Its not a critical massive success but its far from failure. Failure equals Funcom and everyone knows it.
Mythic is masking the loss of subscribers by merging servers. Of course if you play on the top 20 servers you think more people are playing the game now. That is only because the other 35 server's players are being funneled onto your server.
The only reason things are leveling off now is because people who have been playing for 4 months are enjoying the T4 oRvR. The probelm is that new players are still stuck grinding SC's in T3 because oRvR still has a huge diminishing return and PQs don't happen.
Mythic still has not fixed the endgame content. Forts still crash every time they are heavily defended. The only time you can capture one is off-peak hours. And because of this, most players still have not found out that the great endgame of city seiges is actually 95% a pve experience.
Long-term players will be happy for a few more weeks swapping BO's and keeps.. then the other problems will be much more obvious.
It's like mythic has purposefully set up technical roadblocks to prevent players from seeing the bad endgame
1. Zones were unlockable (and had vodoo mechanisms), the best way to keep the enemy from locking a zone was to not show up.
2. Players didn't really RvR anyway because SC's give much better rewards
Those two things combined hide the fact that Server stability was so bad that you couldn't actually take a Fort during prime-time
The Fort Issue is hiding the fact that endgame pvp (city seiges) is actually pve and very underinspired.
So they finally got around to fixing #2, and somewhat #1 (although the best defense is still not to show up).
Everyone knows that in order to avoid the Queueing hell that was WoW's launch (it still happened on some servers) they released TO many Servers. there's nothing wrong with merging a percentage of servers out of the mix. MY God a small number of servers? oh my god its such a purge! lol Its not like they're dropping to a measle 4 servers like Turbine's games.
Im not saying there WASN"T a decrease beacuse there was obviously. But the increase im seeing are mostly NEW players in T1. Ever since Patch 1.1 went live I've seen dozens of nwe players and fielded dozens of questions.
In the US the server moves already happened over a month ago.
WAR atleast on my server of Volkmar is jumping once again. T1 to T4 is seeing constant RvRs at peak hours. It was quite amusing to see T1 filled with warbands this past weekend. It reminded me of the BETA days.
1.1 patch has definetly help stir life back into the game once again... believe it or not..
And to be honest, I am glad we have mmorpg's competing for subscribers, its keeping at least the mmorpgs fresh with new carrot tricks or whether they copy each other ideas as well.

You just can't compete with the T1 RvR lakes. You don't know how many toons I created, level it to 11, and then delete, just so that I can continue to play in T1 RvR lakes. It's the best form of RvR ever, relatively stable, and full adrenaline rush. After T1, well, eh,...... it all goes downhill.

Hmm, I admit I too am guilty of T1 alting ). Got a T2 alt as well and I can say it's as lively in T2 as in T1 with added bonus of more depth to it due to keeps. T4 is VERY alive - sometimes even too much for me - too many people fighting while I'm partial to more focused play.
Hmm, that being said, T3 might be more problematic with populations - it is in the "dead spot" between carefree fun in T1 and T2 and serious war in T4... and it still IS a pain to level out of. I'll let you know when I get there with my main alt. T2 is way fun though on a well populated server - no need to delete alts when you get 12+.

Sounds like another well known game that just came out with a large open PVP zone,
Severe lag, makes it unplayable.
crashing servers,
overpowered buff for low member side,
AOE so no one can cap the relic,
just to name a few problems.
A lot of the players are calling this zone a failure. Maybe you should stop trashing Warhammer and be more concerned about your own game.

For what you say to be true they would have had to launch with over twice the amount of servers they needed. There is no way that is even possible unless Mythic intentionally was stupid.
Plus that fact that Mythic had to add more servers after launch to handle the volume of people joining shows they didn't have enough servers during release to handle all the people. That shows they didn't have an overage of servers. Remember, this game broke sales records and exceeded their expectations. You can't over plan that much, it just doesn't make sense.

You have *got* to be kidding me.
They just *snapped* their fingers and tripled the servers they had. Rofl, no way.
They always said they had enough, they just kept saying they wanted to take it slowly. Those servers were there and ready, they just didn't use them because they had different plans becuase they wanted to do a staggered release. Problem is, a lot of people didn't like that and actually most of the complaints were aimed at the fact that they didn't announce more servers so people could pick one already for their guilds friends etc.
Underestimate nothing, they overestimated and they clearly showed that hand when they overcompensated and threw in all the servers they had ready instead of stick to their staggering plan.

Are you kidding? There is absolutely no lag problem or server crashes because of Lake Wintergrasp. Check the realm status forums on WOW.. not a single mention of a crash. I've done oRvR in LW almost every night at primetime and never even noticed lag, let alone had a server crash.
Now take a look at this thread, that ironically was started AFTER I made my post here LOL

Rofl, didn't even realize he was talking about LW with that, are you sure he doesn't mean some other game?
