EverQuest II comes in three versions, all of which include a 30-day subscription (excluding SOE All Access subscriptions) to the game's online world.

(copied for SOE official site)

Its interesting how so many WoW fanbois hate on SOE and EQ2, but at least the $50 EQ2 comes with a free month of gameplay unlike their coveted game.  (Not that i hate WoW, actually want to play it also, just tired of all the flak from peeps about how one is better than another.  I personally think it stinks that only the collectors edition of WoW includes a free month of service).

That is not necessarily true. I got my preorder box this weekend, the one with the novel, and it said on the box that it comes with 1 month of service. The preorder box is the same whether you get the collectors or regular edition.

Kindly link up some proof of this.

I can't find anything on the official site, and I'm sure if they made that big of a departure from the de facto standard, there'd been enough of a ruckus made, that'd we'd have heard about it.

The collectors edition does ship with a 10 day companion cd key that you can give to a friend so they can try the game.
