So, I need my dose of MMO Fix, and my main MMO is WAR. But I had this plan of playing War a few months and then switch to something else for a month.
I really liked AoC back in July and I'd love to resub, especially as I've been hearing the game has gotten much better over these months.
But my question is....I played on the Daogon-EU server. How is this server now population-wise? I don't want to start over again on a new server (got my char names reserved on Dagon :-) ), but I don't want to end up on a near-empty server either...

I'd actually do my research and find a good, solid, PvP server.
I say PvP server b/c a lot of the fun comes from always looking over your shoulder and playing what you love to play plus a solid community and tons of more fun thats just not available to a PvE server.
The game is definietely on the up-swing of things and couldn't pick a better time to get back into the game. If you wanted to play a new class it wouldn't hurt you since a lot of people are coming back to AoC.
Hi all
Fury EU server is the most populated pvp server in AoC..
Bye.
ok, but how is the population of Dagon?
That was my original question...

I do not play on Dagon myself, but the server used to be one of the three most populated english EU-PVE servers. Unfortunately for Dagon, Crom was set up as the recomended PVE server back in november, so it might not have seen the same influx of newer players as Crom has.
That aside, it wont matter that much if you go back to this server as there will be a server merger in january combined with a free transfer of your characters after that if you do not like where you end up. That is if all goes as planned.
(OP)
Yes, you should definitely resub again
AOC has improved alot and is now a really cool and fun game, I think Dagon server is second higest pop server on EU-PVE, so yes i think there are still alot peopels playing there, but yes that wont matter becus in january they will merge servers and then the pop will be high again, (in january) and if you whant you can transfer your chars to another server even a pvp server if you whant.
So my recommendations to you resub and see how much AOC has improved and have fun
Good luck m8

thanks for the replies
I think I'll resub AOC as my off-game to change my mind from WAR once in a while.
I've loved the game since the start, even with all its' bugs...

I went back a few days ago and the game hasn't really got better. It runs a lot smoother and they added a few new quests, but the game is still not worth paying for and doesn't have any lastability. If you have been playing another big MMO like EQ2, WoW, etc AOC just feels plane boring
The biggest problem now is the server populations are to low for an MMORPG, getting any group content done in a real mission.
I really want this game to be good, but it just isn't
Unplayable at launch, now works better than War on my computer.
Really a GOOD game now. You' d better talke a month.
Couldn't play AOC at launch, (a disaster, stopped at OB. )
now it's really GOOD.
Bought AOC .and i'm happy. Canceled War.
My computer:
Imac 24"
1920X1200
Win XP pro with Bootcamp
ATI 256 MO ddr3 (drivers by Apple for Bootcamp)
AOC: medium/High
Works FINE.
If you are returning now before the server mergers, population issues really is something you must take into consideration. If you say the biggest problem is getting a group, and that's why the game is boring to you, why don't you go and reroll on one of the recommended servers? If that is not an option for you, then you just have to wait for the mergers.. Trying to level on one of the least populated servers without being in a guild is the recipe for getting bored in any game IMO.
What have been repeated to the nth order on this forum is, that there are multiple AoC servers that are highly populated. All you need to do is to join in on those server. Here comes the nobrainer in terms of servers: Deathwisper, Tyrrany, Cimmeria, Set, Wiccana, Thos, Dagoth. Join and play.
