Shipping date of Nov8, means what for mail order?

HiHoEskimoHiHoEskimo Member UncommonPosts: 82

Ok, EQ2 ships to stores on the 8th with some shops receiving and selling it on the 9th.

How does the all this affect those of us who order overnight from Game Stop?

Nov 9th or the 10th? image

We want to complain things aren't perfect on launch day as well!

I do have an email into Game Stop with this question. I'll post here when I get an answer.

I ordered from Game Stop. I've had good luck with them delivering on day of release in the past but yes, the question is how will the release date affect anyone who has overnighted from any company.

I figure there are others out there who are wondering when they will receive EQ2 or if we will get burn by mail ordering it. image

All the waiting for the knock on the door on the 9th....... image

If the game goes live on 11/8 but also ships to stores on that same date (stores getting the game no earlier than 11/9), is it even conceivable that anyone will have the game on 11/8 (the live date).  In other words, how can you have a live date of 11/8 when nobody can get the game until 11/9?

    Am I missing something?

Yep its now offical on the SoE site the game will ship on nov 8th to shops .

So servers should be up on the 9th.

I got $10 shipping(1 day air) and i am ordering from ebgames.com. I will get my game on the 9th (and i i dont she shipping is free-happened before). only people who will have the game on the 8th are people who work on EQ or possibly for sony.

Has anyone one else found out like me that pre-ordering (or mail ordering) is worthless?  I've gotten games more quickly every time by just going to a local store on the day it's supposed to arrive.

I live in a fairly urban area (which might make the difference for me) and have literally about 5 or 6 stores locally that carry computer games (GameStop, CompUSA, BestBuy, EB, Babbages, etc)

The last game I pre-ordered was City of Heroes at BestBuy.  Plopped down my $10 at the counter, thought that would guarantee me having a copy on opening day..and guess what?  BestBuy didn't have any in stock on that day.  I went literally across the street to GameStop, they had it in stock and I bought it there.  Maybe BestBuy would take the $10 I lost to them and put it to good use...like overnight shipping of a hot game.

That was the last game I'll ever pre-order again.

Same basically goes for mail ordering.  Why wait by your door for something that may or may not come on that day.  Just go out and get it.  I usually call a few stores ahead of time and see if they have it in stock.

On the extremely slim chance that all stores are out of stock (which has never happened in my case), meh, then I'll wait a day or two and wait for it to arrive or mail order it with overnight shipping.
