Huh, there have been some youtube movies at least...
I can't really say that you are wrong about the number or not off course since I am not in the beta but 500 is still more likely.
On the other hand I think 500 is bad enough, I wonder if they will release it in time? Because I doubt they will get much work done during X-mas.
But I don't know more about DF than anyone else, still I don't see why they would lie about the number of beta tester, it would really ot serve any point for them. Sure, lying about the buggs would be one thing, I can see someone doing that but this would just be pointless.
Well yes it is kinda hard to belive that they might actualy pick mature people to test the game, you know the type the ones who test on a regualr basis the ones who respect the NDA I am almost positive they are under. Hey come to think of it wasnt Stargate worlds just in BETA testing with all of their players under NDA and with no leaks comming out of there mabey they only had 50 lol Listen companys have gotten smarter when they want their games unleaked so they dont just send 1000 invites to random people that apply they actualy take the time and look for those people they personaly feel wont leak before opening the doors, then they put them under strick NDA and if said person breaks it you ban them for ever playing, common people its not rocket science game designers know who will and wont leak info before they even pick them, and some companys even use people they know will leak as sort of an unofficial hype meater. Yes I am sure darkfall has a rather large beta group testing and you will see a ton of crap as soon as they are no longer under NDA
there is a leak... it's been a small leak so far and it's from a third party but it's out there.
So they had a list of 500 + mature testers they knew would not leak, something that has never happened in the history of gaming.
Word seems to be that if someone in the batch of testers leaks info then the whole batch of testers is kicked and a new batch is selected. This of course is merely a rumor I can not ,nor would I , confirm. Aside from that you are a bit late to the party, sadly I will not catch you up to speed.
I agree, even if it was just 50 testers, I would expect a leak because of how quiet they are trying to keep this game. Something isn't right, I wonder at times if their are really any testers..and if their are they must be like hired and paid or something.
And yeah, testing a game for month is a bad choice, you can tell by looking at recently released games that did the same thing, and they turned out as crap.
The lack of communication on this game is bothering me, when the developers don't communicate with the players they tend to loose sight of things, especially on what the players want.

Yep. If they kicked a bunch of people out of beta we would have all of them here complaining how much Aventurine and Darkfall sucks.

What gets me was the ludicrous speed that MMORPG.com nailed the link thread. It was 3 am two nights ago (i think) and the thread couldnt have been open for more than 5 -10 minutes. Who the hell mods at 3 am for gods sake?
maybe they are just really good at keeping secrets?
Whether that is a real leak or not, fans of the game will say it is fake. This game is basically, you will have to wait and see when the game is released or an actual beta is out. None of these, there are 500 or only 50 testers scenarios. Once there are several thousand testing, then leaks will be more reliable.
If the game doesn't come out jan 22 (which I believe) then people will say the leak had some credibility while others will believe whatever tasos said the reason was. It is all kind of pointless to speculate about since no one is really going to bend their stance until the actual game comes out, eventually. Of course, the longer the game takes to come out, the more delays and breaking of promises there are, the higher the possibilites of the acolytes abandoning the game.
It is kind of fun seeing both sides going back and forth though, hehe.

Honestly many here report NDA violations as soon as we can. I am among them, wether your a friend, clan mate, or a fellow fan or other.
Fodfod had a few paragraphs without anything backing them up. The only known leak was the screenshots which have been mentioned by not only me but several others. Im not really claiming anything at all about the game (IE wether it will be good or bad or even release at all) just that fodfod posted something claiming to be the original leak , which it wasnt.
