Good PvE group mmo??

ErhunErhun Member Posts: 170

Going to try and make this as short as I can so here's what I'm looking for.

1. Good group PvE content. I like tanking and want something that is fun to tank in and has good end game content.

2. Crafting, something where crafting is worth something and people actually use the crafted items.

3. Leveling, I've been playing WoW for the past few months again and I'm fed up with doing the same thing every time I go to level a new character. The boredom really kills me.

4. No point and click. I just hate it.

That's basically the only things important, I don't care to much for PvP. Graphics I don't care about as long as they are decent. A good community would be nice, not a bunch of assholes running around.

Thanks for the help peoples.

Lord of the Rings Online sounds exactly what you are looking for. The crafting system is enjoyable and the game is known its PvE and lush storyarcs. Definitely check it out: http://lotro.turbine.com/

Well, the new character replaying the same old you really cant help in this genre (well, you can help) but a lot you describe is in Vanguard. LOTRO is pretty nice in the PvE, has even more content now sense Mines of Moria has came out.

Beyond that, I am really not sure, I want to play a good MMO myself but I am not sure what I like, I love the competative nature of games like Warhammer Online but I also like games like EQ and Vanguard. I also wouldnt mind getting away from fantasy games (good lord when is that WH40k MMO coming out? 5 years from now?).

Either way, hope the post helped.

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

Been thinking about it actually. LOTRO popped in my head as I was typing that. Wanted to see what else was out there as well.

Meh I perfer WoW to LOTRO, but thats a matter of personal opinion. Have you tried Recruit a friend in WoW? I got 3 60s in about a week, and an 80 within 2 weeks of that. It srsly helps leveling.

Also, this may not be exactly but your looking for but, CoX has some great Group PvE events/content and you even get more xp for being in a group, and it's just an amazing game.

If you drop the crafting Guild Wars is a decent alternative. It does have a strong PvP element but there is loads of PvE content. There are three seperate campaigns and one expansion pack. Each campaign has a different feel to it and you can buy any of them in any order.  There is also the Eye of the North expansion.  There are a bunch of skills you can acquire but you can only have six active at a time. This lends an element of strategy to combat. One drawback is the game is fully instanced. You only run into people in the towns which act as hubs. The gameplay encourages grouping though so it is actually a good way to cluster players together so they can find a group.  The kicker is there is no monthly fee. DDO basically does the same thing and they charge. This game provides a great value and a good alternative to some of the more mainstream games out there. You can pick up a copy of one of the campaigns for 20 to 30 bucks. With no monthly fee you really have nothing to lose by checking it out.

I really like CoX as well. Combat is a little more exciting and you have access to cool powers and abilities not often seen in other games like flying and super jumping.

If you want to try Guild Wars, you can have my account with Factions and Prochocies (I cant sell that for my life). Been trying to get rid of the thing for ages.

    Hello my old friend.

CoX isn't my thing. FFXI just isn't as big as it used to be, last time I played it I couldn't get past level 37 on a relatively high pop server because of lack of people. As for Guild Wars, no thanks not dropping the crafting, it's to important.

Lord of the Rings Online definitely sounds like the game for you mate. Brandywine is the most populated server.

EQ2 is worth a try also, if something buggs up with Guildwars for you. Guildwars don't really have any crafting.

Bad things with EQ2 is PvE soloing sucks, the game is great for grouping however.

But Guildwars is really worth a try... The prophesis campaign is really fun.
