I seriously doubt I would play another game without a lifetime account offer. Something about adding another monthly bill really turns me off, even one as cheap as $15 a month. Which actually is more, because I never play a single account.
Recently bought my 3rd LOTRO lifetime account as a Christmas present. Money well spent. Some of the cheapest entertainment you can find. Nothing else can entertain me for 3-4 hours a night for a year or more at $200. Nothing even comes close.
I regret paying my lifetime membership, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. I knew the risks...
The first 9 months or so, loads of fun, hundreds of hours spent playing. Then it just got boring... I can't put my finger on the reason, as the only thing I play anymore is MMO's. LOTRO just grew more and more lifeless to me, despite having multiple alts on well-populated servers.
I absolutely hate the fact that I can't get into this game anymore, as it is by far the most polished, beautiful game out there. Great community too. I so want to love this game. But after one year of playing I do consider myself out a hundred bucks I would have saved had I taken the standard sub...

Rather than thinking you paid $200 for only a year at $15 a month think you paid $200 for "hundreds of hours" of entertainment.
So you paid a dollar or less per hour to be entertained by LOTRO, how is that bad?
You also still have access to play again later, assuming you get over your irrational reason for disliking LOTRO. Yes I said irrational because you can't explain why you dislike something, its irrational.
Lifetime sub was the best thing I ever bought. It's so nice not to have to worry about how much you are playing in a given month to get your money's worth. It's already paid for itself.
