i have to say, i'm sick of all the people posting reviews that act like they know everything about the game after two weeks.
i'm not going to to sit here and repeat what people have said about this game, good or bad as i can do both. what i came to say is that i have played this game for 8 months, i have 3 characters, and i like this game a lot more than the other 3 mmo's i've played (EQ, UO, and E&B) and i will continue to play until the day it dies.
the simple fact is that this game is already HUGE and they add new items, equipment, and quests every MONTH. They have done so since the game came out and i'm sure they will continue to for a long time.

I agree. I hate when people talk like they know what they are doing and they have only been playing for a few weeks.

i play for 1 month now and sure not gonne stop for the following few months , i really like this game , thou only i played 1 month but still the more i play the more fun it gets for me
I also love this game and have played since the NA inception.My main peeve is one you may or may have not encountred yet.The unreal amount of gil you need at levels 50+.There is only one way to get this kinda gil,if you wish to enjoy this game to the fullest.HUNT NM's......This is incredibly frustrating ,because any decent one is camped by bots or jpn players that have such a huge advantage in lag/ping you might as well leave.I have stood right in front of nm spawn points .only to see a player attack it twice before it even comes into my view.That is a joke as far as i'm concerned,and the only fair way a game should be doing NM's ,is by having the spawn points totally random in a zone,there is no other option...otherwise botting.
Of course there are tons of things to do in the game,but i pay the same amount to play as anyone else ,and should have every option available to me.As it is now,most good NM's are off limits.Being on garuda makes it even worse,as this server is one of the most overpopulated in the game.
Imagine being a ranger,needing the eurytos bow/peacock charm/emperors hairpin ect ect,your not gonna farm that kinda gil unless you plan on playing another 10 years.

yeah drop rates suck, but i knew FF online would be like that. if i were to give my biggest peeve about NM hunting it would be that since the servers are in japan, your flash or stun is always beaten by a player in japan.
my peeve with the game is this; from what the japanese players tell me the economy is also nothing like it was before the NA inception. since the game was released for a year in japan before it was here, all the japanese players got to A) hit level 75,
camp the uber EQ off of the NMs from before ROTZ (expansion) with virtually no competition, C) max at least one craft. all BEFORE the NA players even got the game installed on their PC. Then not only did the economy see inflation from an influx of NA players (and now EURO) but also due to price gouging by greedy japanese players with maxed crafts sticking it to NA players now trying to levels crafts.
i wonder why it peeves me when i'm beat to that NM by a japanese player. NM hunting isn't fun at all, it's the only part of the game that makes me want to quit sometimes (i've put over 20 hours a week into camping some NMs, that's a job not a game).
aside from all this i still like the game, there are other ways to make your money besides NM hunting. also you don't HAVE to pay out the nose for your equipment. some of it is crafted, quested, or heck maybe you could camp that NM _just_this_once_ for a piece of gear. it's how i get by *grins*.

I have been playing this since it came out in NA, and yes, people that play 2 weeks can't expect themselvs to become super characters. There is no way. Most likely, their menatlilty is still stuck in the offline FF's where leveling is simple.
Saying that, NM hunting is almost the worst part of the game IMO. It is a chore (as someone said earlier) rather than enjoying it. I would rather just make my money as i go. Farming is needed at times, but not for an entire week!
. However, the missions are fun and make up for all of this NM stuff. Nonetheless, you need to lvl up to get up to the required level to do missions (which may include a lot of farming in between, DAMN FARMING)

A met a girl that reached lv 30 in 4 days,. I have no idea how hse could.... But that is fast leveling!
If you are 6 friends and play FFXI you cna make up how you will create your characters in the beginning, that way you will have perfect partis everytime!
