Actually its about 60mb. Which is amazing. You got a small company like that (The name of the guildwars company escapes the mind of me for the moment. I know they're associated with NCSoft), which can compact a client that could fit 10 of its clients on one CD. But isn't it EQ that has something like 8 CD's?

The reason the game client is so small is because of the mechanics ArenaNet is using.
It is a new system, they will be "streaming" the game to us as we play, which is how they can constantly and almost immediately change things on the fly. Most of the game is kept on their servers.
You will never see a patch, it will just happen. You will see things change before your eyes as you play, it is innovative, and it is the future of MMO gaming. However . . .
It is yet to be seen whether the immense scope can be captured this way, from what I have seen so far most zones are small. This leads me to beleive that a large, seamless gameworld may not be feasible with this streaming technology . . . I could be wrong.
So far for me the game is 156MB. Startup the client and watch the little lightning bolt at the top of the screen, thats you getting the goods. If you don't see the bolt, then you have all the todate goods. Just run it daily to keep up to date.

Best part is the game rocks. Its really fun, but I dont think it will be a good timesink game.
More like you have guild playing game <a> for a long time, take a break for a day to play guildwars, go back to game <a> for a week or two, then a few hours playing guild wars.
Theres that game with Doom 3 style graphics, i dont remember what its called, but it uses real-time lighting and many advanced effects, its something like krogar... anyway, that game is only like 62kb or something very close to that number... im sure someone else here knows the game im talking about.

But! BUT BUT! It's not a real MMORPG!
Geez if ONE person find something wrong with a game... all the good things about it suddenly vanish. This board is ridiculous sometimes.

Let me rephrase it.
62kb = Uncompromising
62kb = Ubiquitous
62kb = Amazing
62kb = Makes other online games look like 12th century artifact
62kb = Gonna own the market
62kb = I'm gonna buy
Wtf How could it be so small...?

The guys at Arena.Net have had some contact with extra-terrestrial beings, thus the insanely amazing download size.
