Jan. 22nd, 2009 date for EU only...
Uh yeah so i was reading some forums and stumbled across this.... forums.darkfallonline.com/showthread.php
and it states that the January 22nd, 2009 release date is for EU and that the US release date will be shortly after... I hope this isn't true... if so i think i might be done with this game already. I hope not....

I guess it would depend on what "shortly" after was. There's nothing else new on the MMO gaming front for some time to come after atm so no choice really.

I understand and thats not was i was trying to get at. my problem with that is that when they officialy relleased the release date they left that little park out. Im tired of Tasos it doesn't matter what we say or do ppl are gonna love it no matter what additude.
Why the hell would you not want to play the game just because its not getting released earlier? It's still the same fucking game lmao.
Or is the wait literally killing you? It's probably a good thing, you'll get an updated version when it hits the US.
Besides what's another delay? this game has had over 9000.

Well, there is good news and bad news.
The good news is that as the game is distributed digitally, does it really matters where they release it first? I guess they might have geographical zones divided and that would mean if you want to play on january the 22nd, it is gonna be on European servers.
The bad news is that last time Tasos said "shortly" it was 2003 and was announcing the coming of the beta...

USA players can still join the EU shard in Jan if they so wish its been said by the dev team.
U.S just can't buy boxes, they will be able to download and play on euro server..

Glad someone posted this. Perhaps people will stop posting about the game is just around the corner.
Seems like their going to get the European Community to buy and pay for the Darkfall Beta. Hoping for a large number of patches before the game is releases in the states.
As Darthraiden said, US will be able to participate in EU launch. You can do a digital download and play on EU servers if you are impatient. As for the QQ post itself............... Tasos has said it will an EU launch only at this time, isn't a secret lol. Everyone and there grandma following this game know this. If it was simply because EU will have it before NA then get over it. Thats just how things work sometimes. We usually get it first, this time however, EU is getting it first. Isn't a big deal just how the cards fell.

No worries and my apologies for replying a bit harshly.
That is the announcement that you linked, it clearly says European launch with US at a later date. They didn't leave it out, you must read the release date somewhere else rather than on the offical site.
They don't even have a US publisher yet, so it most probably won't be in the US soon after release.
But you can still play on the European servers. Really should not matter.
So in theory the peoples in the UK get to beta test Darkfall and get them to fix all the bugs and balance the pvp for a flawless US release.

Ummm.... You do realize that what you linked in your original post was the original release date announcement from the developers? How did they "leave that little part out"? This is the very first release date announcement anywhere and is where all the other sources including this site got their info from. It's really not their fault that you got your release info from a third party and didn't go to the source.
