Failing to purchase the game...

I thought I'd download LOTR and spend the evening playing, but I'm unable to work out how to actually buy a product code.

Either I'm a moron, or Turbine make it very hard to spend money on their game.

I downloaded 9GB of files, watched it install for an hour, watched it download the latest files...  Now it wants a product code, so I went to the turbine store, but they don't appear to offer a digital download version of the game for sale.  They have a digital version of Asheron's Call, a digital version of Dungeons and Dragons and a digital version of LOTR for Australia and New Zealand, but the US version seems to be a CD version.  It requires a postal cost between $9-33.

Trying to find information, I can't post on their forums without a product code, I can't email their account support staff without giving them my credit card details...

I have the game installed, I have money, I want to play, What do I do?

Maybe play the free trial till you can sort it out?

EDIT: Seems the page is not working or no longer there!  EU/UK Page works though? Strange.

Yes, Turbine say the free trial is disabled until Moria rolls out, although I believe that's already happened.

Ask someone for a buddy key, possibly on this forum. I'm on a buddy key trial right now, while the game is being sent in the mail.

    Playing - FFXIV,  ESO
Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW

Unfortunately, if you're a new subscriber you need to buy the complete edition box. (Unless you live in Aus/NZ)

OK, well that confirms what I'm seeing.  Any idea why the Aussies are allowed to download and the Americans aren't?

I think it has something to do with the publisher there (Atari?) screwing up the release and the game is widely unavailable. In North America the publisher is Midway. Turbine has agreements with the publishers to distribute the game, but since Atari isn't doing their job Turbine is bypassing them and offering it digitally down under.
