Dual wield? Shields?

Hello,
Can anyone tell me if you can dual wield in this game? the website is worthless for information.
Particularly if rogues can duel wield and how? I see no skill for it.
Also what do shields do exactly? They dont seem to block and dont have any stats. So why would you use one?

Equipment is almost entirely cosmetic in TCoS. Its a lot like City of Heroes in this regard. You abilities are upgraded directly and some gear can be upgraded. All the upgrades are called Sigils. In a way, Sigils are your gear.
As a comparison to WoW, just imagine that all weapons do the same damage and the only way to do more damage is to advance in levels or to enchant your weapon. The advantage of this system is that you can tailor your look independent of performance. It also reduces the gear grind and focuses the game on adventuring.
You still get plenty of chances to change your characters look, but its just not dictated by gear stats.
There's no dual wield in the game but the devs are aware of players eager to use it, so I bet you can expect it soonish. And as the guy above me said: shields are entirely cosmetic.
