Darkfall looks great ! However I'm sure we all have a backup plan. Even the biggest Darkfall fan has secrets I'm sure. Soon I have to go back to WoW for two months to play with friends(long story), But I've been playing the Vanguard trial and love it, just can't play it just yet.
My plan:
In late Feb or March, I'll re-evaluate the entire market, If Darkfall and Spellborn does the carrot on a stick thing ( like all MMO's do) I'll TAKE A STAND AND BLOW THEM OFF !!!!
Vanguard looks great at this point, and if their is still a population issue when I'm ready, I'll take the proper steps such as good server, good guild with ventrilo along with using the looking for people panel.
Whats yours?

I dont care about the release date of DF i am so not interested in buying and getting hyped up at another bug fest...saying that WAR hasnt been so bad actually. I ended sub with war but might resub as there isnt another atm.
was thinking of AoC but they are spinning their lies again so gonna just leave taht for about 3-6 months before thinking of resubbing. Not sure what else really. might try RoM but to be honest i think i am bored silly of the fantasy genre and want something futuristic, so maybe try stargate and earthrise when they due.
been getting into offline games lately as mmos dont have much magic in them anymore.
If darkfall fails for me itll be some casual WoW and offline games.
playing: darkfall
waiting: earthrise
Don't have a plan.. I'd like to have a fun and interactive game to play. If Darkfall isn't good then I'll wait until something else is coming up.

The Sceptics, yes they're special but we've need them to.. I guess.
And if they're put more effort MMORPG.com can create a 'Team Sceptic'
and send them to the Special Olympus.
I do not plan on purchasing Darkfall. if there is a Free Trial I will try however. I am mostly waiting for the Chronicles of Spellborn and Aion. And probably I will stick one of these game, or both.
Currently when I have time, I play the Witcher while I wait for Aion and Spellborn. I have trial several MMOs but so far none of them kept me interested.

Wait untill it actually releases and[ (when) (if) ] that happens i shall wait another 6 months just to make sure i avoided the fail train Plenty of stuff to do 'till then in RL ....
Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray*
Probably going to hold off playing DF until (and if) there is a NA release. I figure if the game is a decent success, then the NA release will happen fairly quickly. If the game tanks, the NA release will never happen and I'll have saved some money.
Meanwhile, plenty for me to do in EVE.

Your plan is to play VG and wow lol.
By starting with name Darkfall dont mean this belongs here its obvious more suited in GD instead of making a topic here, maybe only if something go wrong you maybe play Darkfall lol wgats that for a plan:P
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
With the economic situation in US right now im not sure if a US launch will be soon.
Startgate worlds dont pay there devs for last few months they now on strike.
Turbine sacked alot of employees becouse its not going well with them.
I doub aventurine take a big risk now openening servers in US.

The economy is shit everywhere, not just in the US. Regardless; I'll try the trial; but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yeah, somehow it would be the U.S.s' fault for Aventurine not hosting servers here. More than likely they dont have the money nor the backing to do it. Nice fanboi spin.
Well, the only thing on the horizon I see so far that looks interesting is The Old Republic.
It might not be any good at all because they are going to rely heavily on questing and stories. The idea is that the quest stories are actually important because they determine if you go light side or dark side.
I also don't know the details fo the PvP in Old Republic, or if there will even be any PvP.
So maybe Darkfall if it has a decent release, after that Old Republic. Aion doesn't interest me at all.
I don't play games anymore. Every other MMO is complete and utter crap and same with every other MMO on the horizon. DFO looks good if it succeeds with what it plans, if it doesn't oh well. I'll just go on with life.
With so many MMOG's coming out in the next six months we have plenty of options. I figure every MMOG coming out will be fun for at least a month. My plan is TCoS for one month (no box to buy!), then DF for a month, then Jumpjate for a month, then Champions for a month, then Aion for a month. Some time in June or July I'll go back to the one I enjoyed the most.
I forgot about Champions Online. None of the others on your list look interesting to me, but I would like to try Champions.
I hope Darkfall turns out great. I have always been a two game gamer when it comes to MMORPGs as I believe it helps me keep both games fresh and neither become a grind. With that being said I have a Rank 40 Renown Rank 56 Rune Priest in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and have been hoping to call DarkFall Online my second home with it. If the game doesn't pan out I might stick with it anyways, or go back to just WAR.
I have no gameplan for DF unless we all can get into open beta and see the game for ourselves...... Any of this "you can only see certain areas" or "you can only use a few skills" or anything like that and DF will not even be a blimp on my radar.......Also while non-instancing sounds great in theory we have to see it in practice.....Vanguard used this also and when you got more than two groups in a dungeon it became a lagfest.......I can just see it now. my group goes into desired dungeon, enemy group follows, the lag becomes so bad it becomes a frame by frame slide show, you end up dead and all your stuff is gone......Wheeeeeeee what a great game!
My plan: zero...zip...nada.I'm playing Vanguard...having fun..and will watch to see if /when this game company decides to get real. Also occasional checks on MORTAL ONLINE website.
I've seen 180+ people in an Everquest dungeon, with the only lag coming from players with bad video cards. You should play more than one game before you decide something is unworkable. The reason for instanced dungeons was not because of lag, it was because of farming.
- Back on topic, though. I don't have any plans. I'll give TCOS a try, I guess, and I have an AOC box waiting to be installed once I am sure that the game is done.
Some people look for the long term game play, I personally don't. I happen to love pvp MMO's first months/weeks.
Having spent a few years in shadowbane I can't play theme park games like Vangard and War. I will buy the Euro Darkfall download and play it until I burn out.
This is a good thread and probably very wise considering the quality of recent MMO releases. Personally I am not participating in anything DFO releated unless it is a free trial or beta or some "free" thing. If this is not possible then I am going to watch and munch popcorn whilst these forums go crazy on the 22nd. Which they will do regardless of DFOs state at release. This attitude is NOT due to DFO directly but due to past releases.
I am going to take what everyone says with a pinch of salt but if nearly everyone is dissatified then I will avoid. I've not been waiting for this game for 5 years and only recently begun taking an interested so no investment there. Of couse if post 22nd good thinga ar being said and the dissapointment is low then I may be interested.
Killer things which make me avoid the game will be commented like :
(which is basically VG all over again !)
At the moment I am playing COH, EVE and WOW to tide me over. I know WOW.. shameful !.
My plan is to sit back and watch it burn with accusations of Fraud and deceptive practices never before seen in the MMO world...
My plan: I have Februari and March free from work now. If DF fails i will stop caring about MMORPGs and begin lawschool and never look back. For real.
quitters never win
once they let everyone in the game I am gonna hunt down all the people who trolled and crapped on this game for years thens till made a char to play....

I heard that all severs would be intergrated, meaning people would play with people all across the world. IF this isn't the case I'll be a little disappointed.
Plan: Try DF's free trial when it launched in europe to see if its as grindy as it appears to be. If its moderately entertaining and as skill based as it appears, with out the huge gear grind, then I'll play it when it hits NA (by that time the bugs should be worked out).
Until then its AoC.
Also, I plan on laughing all the people that scream "fail!" when it doesn't meet expectations for whatever reason.
