I started mmo's with tibia which if it wasnt based off hacking i would still play it due to the exp and gear loss...the adrenaline rush from killing countless people and taking their gear and them losing exp was amazing.
I am getting bored of wow with its carebare pvp..if i dont like someone i want to make them suffer and need an mmo to play that has the same concepts as tibia without hacks etc.
Graphics are not #1 but a good bonus
Gameplay must be insane i want top notch control of my character
Based off skill *mostly*
can either lose gear or exp upon death...or both
Please list some free or pay to play MMOS with these guidelines
I havent had any luck finding a good game so any help is appreciated

Play a FPS? They take skill, though you dont make people suffer, I suggest buying baby rats and poking them with toothpicks for that.
Currently restarting World of Warcraft
Seems darkfall would fit what your looking for. Open PVP, full loot, castle sieging, active combat. You only have to wait 1 more month for it.
EVE Online.
Might check Shadowbane. Graphics are not that good, but the character customization and PvP are worth it. Great game to play while you wait for Darkfall xD
Nah, he strikes me as the type of tries Eve because he hears it has ultra hardcore pvp, then ragequits on the forums after his trial is up because of all the other things that Eve has that require things like patience and learning.
I'd suggest rat-poking, FPS games, or maybe Darkfall. I'm not really solid on the concept of Darkfall, if it works it'll be one of those games that start small and grow up, rather than start huge and slowly die off (as seems to be the norm these days)
Tibia was my first mmo and it is probably as hardcore as it gets for any MMORPG out right now. The Dolera and Inferna servers are really all that's worth playing if pking is what you are after. I have looked for ages for a game that is like Tibia but more modern. There just isn't one. The only 2 to come close are Lineage 2 and Shadowbane. UO has been toned down too much and I doubt you would feel a worthwhile difference switching from Tibia. Especially if you played Dolera or Inferna.
"MMOs for people that think chatting is a skill or something, rofl."
EvE or L2, those are the only PvP mmos with gear / skill-exp loss that could even possibly cater to your needs.
Sorry to say but maybe just stick to FPS games till Darkfall / mortal online.
what type of MMO you like to play an P2P or F2P, i know a lot of F2P that fits your qualification, cabal, flyff online and if you like a different battle system Atlantica Online has it.
Wait for about a month (january 22nd or Open Beta a few weeks before) and test darkfall for free. Buy it after realizing it's the game you're looking for
Sounds to melike you have to wait for Mortal online or possibly Darkfall.
Every other game like that right now are very old.
Why don't they make a "hardcore" pvp game? Well, for one, your definition of hardcore, a grief-fest with no actual skill involved, doesn't make money! See AoC when it came out. A level 26 running through Cimmeria getting "pwned" by some bored level 45 retard is not skill-based; it's an asshole. Guess what? Most MMO players don't like assholes like that. For me, a true hardcore PvP game is where players of a certain level are equal, and it relies on skill and luck, not who has "1337 934r" or more grind time.I wouldn't go on a PvP server in AoC not because I'm "carebear", but because I know the difference between true ability and a career griefer.
A pure PvP will never be a success mainly because most people, the VAST majority, are PvE'ers with, at most, a casual interest in PvP. They tried a PvP game with Fury, and we all see how that did. AoC and WAR had a huge focus on the PvP aspect, and they both fell by the wayside. As for looting the loser, yeah, that is covered with EVE(if you can wrap your brain around the skill needed), and most people don't like losing their shit when they lose. It's a game, and they want to escape a reality where actions have consequences.
Since game companies are in it to MAKE MONEY, the likelihood of a game like what you want(an anal rape-fest) is not very good.
i want to be this guys "friend" when i run into him on darkfall.......
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

Hello my old friend.
To the above poster, Fury wasn't a true PvP game it was peice of trash disguised as one. It was an arena brawler like quake. It wasn't to shabby near the end of its life either, but in no way was it a true PvP game.
Also a lot of people still play free UO servers, and Ashron call on darktide because they're about the only hardcore pvp games left. People like them and there is a market for them; Darkfall will show that. It doesn't seem like you played either of those since you think they don't require skill.
To the OP ya should try Ashron's Call or some of the free UO servers(defiance) .
MMO's I am playing
Ether Saga Online (Closed Beta)
Ultima Online (halted for now)
World of Warcraft (Retired and never going back)
I can't believe noone mentioned city of heroes/villains.... I admit that UO and Eve online were very hardcore PVP that I ever experienced but if you never experienced CoH/V PVP, you're seriously missing out. The PvE is excellent too...
Not trying to sound like a douche bag, just saying, your in the wrong section lol. Sounds like this belongs in the LFG section.
If you want a mmo where PvP is the cream of the crop, Vendetta-Online's main draw is PvP. It's twitched based space flight of single-man fighters and it can escalate into capital ships.
Plus MMORPG.com has a promo with Vendetta-Online for 30-day free trial accounts. Better get one before they disappear.
Also, why is this thread in Hardware?

Hmm... sounds like an interesting game. will have to go look at it.
