Which RTS are you looking forward too?

So next year looks to be a big year for gaming in general, but RTS is looking like one of the best genres imo. The first game we should be seeing is WAR 40k Dawn of War 2. The first one was amazing, the gfx were niced and the battles I played with friends always seems better then the battles I played in other games such as WC3 or C&C. The next big one will be Empire Total War. If you like RTS games and haven't played Rome TW yet you really missed out. The epic scale some of the battles become and just mananging a empire are amazing, and with the new naval combat I think it'll be better then ever. Then if we are lucky well see Starcraft 2. Now I was put off a little about the way they will handle the other races but since I never really cared for the story it'll just be all multiplayer and the first game will have all 3 races for that.

Now those were imo the big 3 for next year. But stormrise is also looking good. They are adding basicly a z-axis on how troops are controlled. With a thrid person view this should add a nice new demension to RTS in general.

So Ive stated the 4 I know about and am looking for so those make the poll but please pick other and tell us of ones Ive missed that are on yalls radar.

EDIT

Wow Im tired picked the wrong game lol. Was going to choose Empire TW but I guess Im am looking forward to both of them a lot.

Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

the lack of "Kingdom under fire 2" on that list makes me sad. Although it is a MMOARTS and not a pure RTS i will say my favorite pure RTS is SC2. From what i played at blizzcon, its going to be amazezing

Also Empire:total war is NOT a RTS. It is a TBS (turn base strategy) game.

Well I enjoy combat the most and that is RTS. Can't believe I forgot KUF2. I knew I was forgetting at least 1 and that was it.

Of those Empire bar none. Second would be DAW2. Third im ready for SupCom 2 :P

I don't like the way Total War games play, so I'll probably just buy a bunch and let fate decide which I like =P

Wow that looks sweet and it comes out on my birthday too!

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Dawn of War 2, Empire: Total War, and Supreme Commander 2 (announced but not many details yet)

All of those are must buys for me

I will probably buy Starcraft 2, even if it is just Starcraft 1 with updated graphics and what not...because Starcraft 1 was a freaking awesome game...I just hope that they don't ruin it by making it too much about small scale micro like Warcraft 3 was....and the videos that I've seen for it don't look promising on that front...maybe it's just the ways that the pros play, they micro the crap out of everything, and that's not fun for me...that's not RTS, it's RTT(actics)

i think its just the way the pros play. I was able to build up a good sized force in 20 minutes (the time limit we had) and my friend who i played also had a pretty decent army too. I'm guessing your referring the the battle report on ign, i just watched it, and it looked really boring. Both sides only used 3 units in the whole battle, and i agree with you that it just isnt fun.

    Halo Wars.

First Ensemble non-"Age of" game, and their first console game period as far as I know. Should be interesting.

That's reassuring...I never liked the ladder style games that were all about harassing your opponent, same goes for Dawn of War multiplayer (people who use heroes to harass are obnoxious) to me, it's not very fun to play that way...I was really good at Starcraft too, with both Zerg and Protoss....I guess my concern is whether or not how good I was will translate to Starcraft 2...I would hate to see such a style difference that it renders what I know completely obsolete and useless.

Ps.  yes, it was the battle report on ign...and that guy who was trying to provide color commentary, the one who started talking really fast any time something was about to die...yeah...uhh..I wanna punch that guy in the head

Dawn of war 2 for me the first one with all the races is a great game. a close second would be Starcraft 2 but only because i loved Starcraft one and i know very little about supreme commander 2.
