could this mean open beta...
or is this the end of darkfall?

The site goes down for a few hours no less than once a month so I wouldn't think anything of it.
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."
They said they were gonna try to fix their website before game is released.
Might be that.
I got my hopes up, then got them down, and now you tell me to put them back where i had them to begin with?
Ok, that's cool with me, thanks for the insite fellas
They could be putting up a new web page although there's really no reason to take a site down to put a new one up. You just put a place holder index page..
Maybe it got hacked and is never coming back.
It is up now, same good old website.

yeah in the curse interview tasos said he hoped that the new website would be finished in time for launch, so they will hardly put it up now..

I have nothing clever to say.
Nothing new to see here just move along people
Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray*
I think we need to stop with darkfall webpage down threads! Saw a girl yesterday throwing a tantrum cause she wanted a lolipop, and the mother said the post office doesn't have lolipops. This kinda reminds me of that!
HOPED it would be finished before launch?
You don't HOPE a new site is done 25 days before launch. It "IS" done or you're simply an incompetent fool..
Is that just like he HOPES there will be a free play testing?
hey dont blame the messenger, if the game sux you win, if it rox I win..
I will bet on me.

I really look forward to the drama that unfolds Jan 22nd. I think i'll pop some popcorn and just surf the forums for hours reading threads about how it's an abysmal pile of flaming poo and others about how God himself plays darkfall and so should everyone.
I won't be trying it out at launch, but if more than 70% of the reviews are positive, I'll probably give it a try after a few weeks.
My thoughts and feelings exactly. It's just a matter of waiting and letting the first wave of hype to go away. Reality begins to show from second week on.
If you're intrested, why not try it at launch? You get to play for free the first days and can decide for yourself whether it's good or not and don't have to rely in reviews.
It depends on the $$ needed to buy the box. If they are giving a free trial without having to input any credit card info then sure I'll DL the client and test it out - but I would not be at all shocked if they change their plans and decide to charge up front for creating an account.
Keep in mind we know absolutely nothing about this game besides what the developers have told us. It may be completely accurate information but AT BEST it is extremely biased. Short of a free full client test the only thing I will know about DF will be from the people that shell out the cash and tell me whether or not it's a waste of time and money.

You have over 1h ingame footage, hundreds of screenshots and previews from 2 visitors from the community, mmorpg.it and TheNoob. If you want skill-lists, accurate maps or whatever, darkfall really is the wrong game as they want the players to explore most parts of the game.
And why would they lie about testing the game for free? Now, if they don't stick to their words, people will be alot more suspicious about buying the game opposed to if they never had talked about the free trial. So as it looks right now, you will definitly be able to test the game before paying and can take the best judgement to base your decision whether to buy the game or not - your own.
Besides, we have alot of information already about the game, definitly enough to decide whether or not you want to try out the game if it's not a complete bugfest.

Ya I understand what you're saying. Among the games I have bought at launch were Tabula Rasa, Vanguard and WAR. I never want to pay $50 again for a game I just don't like. On the other hand I did the free trial of SWG, EQ2, and LotRO and ended up with subscriptions to those games because I liked them. (this was the OLD SWG.)
I actually would really like a free trial before I spend the cash - but I am a Darkfall skeptic. Even the worst MMO releases had cool videos and at least a couple positive reviews before launch.
