I'm still only in T1 but the people there dont complain much at all in chat.
I imagine it's pretty much the same in later tiers, people who are playing the game are not complaining that much.
However, when you come to the forums here or anywhere else, you see massive amounts of complaints about everything.
I imagine this is the same as I have seen with other MMOs, people will bother posting when they have a complaint but few will come to post if they are just enjoying the game.
I honestly dont get why people bother complaining all the time, it's not like your complaint or bashing of the game will change anything. If you aren't happy with the game, just move on to another one.
What really makes me laugh are the idiots that play some other MMO but feel they have to bash any other MMO.
Anyway, I guess this post is kind of ironic, here I am complaining and bashing people who complain and bash... lol

well, I suppose it's human nature to complain but there isn't much point to it...
I get a kick out of those that complain about low population and tell people not to join the game... well, maybe if there were fewer people complaining about low population and telling people not to join then there wouldn't be a low pop problem on some servers...

It's been that way since games started having forums.
If a person is happy playing a game, they tend to stay away from the forum.
You will find that most every MMO that the forums are places of unrest and complaints. This is felt by most players (whether true or not) as the best way to get your complaints across to devs

Just keep your subscription going, keep playing, and keep the same eye you are posting with now as sharp later on.

Don't roll a BW/Sorc or WE(if mythic cave in and do a nerf) and you should be reasonably happy ever after.
People get emotional over things they put time and money into.
An example here is dissatisfaction with WAR. Some people think it should have more, others think that what it has is unfinished or simply not a good idea. In most cases they've stopped playing the game altogether so the forums are the only place for them to vent any frustration they are feeling. What you might also notice is that a lot of the people who vent are saying the same thing. I say that to put forth a point that the reasons for quitting are not unique to each person leaving and that these people are acting on their dissatisfaction.
There are also people who continue to pay and continue to play the game. They offer no feedback ingame yet know everything that is wrong. I seriously have a problem with folks that don't know how to vote with their feet. Companies think in dollars and cents, and paying for a product you don't like does not send mixed signals, it only sends the signal that you enjoy the product.
And finally you have the people that don't play, have never played, and will probably never even try it out. They are here to read as much as they can about the negativity and regurgitate that negativity back onto the resident population. Often times they are defending a seperate game but can't/won't do it from the forum of the game they do play. It seems like viral marketing at times because when you ask the question "what re they getting paid for this adamant defense" you can't help but to think they are on some payroll for their services. I mean these guys really extend themselves; overly so in most cases.
I think most people are voting with their feet and are staying because they do enjoy the game. As far as the original posters comments about the bashing in the forums goes - just ignore them and decide for yourself. The game is gaining momentum and for good reason.

This is a website dedicated to the discussion of online games. If every post were positive in nature, then it wouldn't be much of a discussion now would it?
My issue is with people who put no thought whatsoever into their opinions, and simply resort to name calling whenever someone points out the discrepencies in their argument.
they dont complain in game because they fear a ban eas as it sounds....
to many people report others to fast for a simple complaint in any chat and the GMs welcome this by banning these people.
so the only way to show their dissatisfaction are the forums.
I would not recommend ignoring valid criticism of a game as thats a way to get a feeling of if you want to spend money on the game or not. However the "This game sucks" comments I think you can safely ignore

First of all, it just blocks the chat to whine about in games good and bad things, most people rather discuss things like that in a forum. It is the same in most games, mainly sociopaths complains in the chat and they usually get on peoples ignore list fast.
Secondly, people who already quited usually complains in the forums also.
It is just natural, would you really want a chat were everybody constantly talk about the games pros and cons? And most people who dislike the game is far gone from it, some just continue to complain for a long while after. A few continue to play a game they don't like, probably because their friends play it.
And there is of course also the flame wars with people from other games, just try not to feed the trolls or whine on games you do not play yourself to at least minimize the damage.
Well, If you want to play a game won't you visit a forum and read what other people think about that game? Of course you must play the game to decide wether you like it or not. Anyway I would like to read in a forum the disadvantages of a game since all the advantages can be found to the game's official website.

Yes the CSR's are running around banning people who say negative things about the game in chat. I am glad that this vast conspiracy has been uncovered
MMO forum goers are the vast minority.
We don't matter at all I think most of us just bitch because it makes us feel better.
the majority of WAR, AoC, LotRO and WoW players dont even visit forums thier too busy actually having a kick ass time. I envy those guys.

one of the best things I have read here.
If I enjoy a game, I play the game. If I don't, I go to forums and let my frustration go into words. You will need people complaining in a constructive way, otherwise developers will not see what they need to change. Having no official forum does not really help....
