PC vs XBOX360 vs PS3
Yeah yeah another versus topic, but thought some of you might find it interesting to look at.
They show Fallout3, Deadspace, Cod/WaW and GTA4 screenshots, mouse over PC - XB360 - PS3 beneath the screenshots to see each view.

I prefer PC for graphics and sound but the PS3 is close now
I hate VS crap. Play what you enjoy and if ya hate it, just ignore it. I play PC mmos and Xbox360 and PS3 is not a good investment for me so there ya go.

On the PC they used a GTX 280 and an unknown frequency quad core intel. Just those two pieces of hardware ALONE will run you TWICE as much as the 360 or PS3. You could easily tack on another $300+ for additional hardware (ram, psu, case, periphs)
the 360 seems to look better in most screenshots. The PS3 does a better job drawing distant objects however, the lighting on the 360 just looks better though. Surprised the PC looks as suck as it does for the resolution it was cropped at versus the 720p HD screenshots.
*edit* ya know what, I took a second look at those pics and Im seeing things a bit different. Look at the detail in the branches and the smaller details especially in the first 2 screenies. Also look at the water. PC wins here too followed by the 360. The PC looks a lot better. Something with the lighting on the PC screenshots and shadows doesnt seem to be adding up. I know they could have tweaked the game and graphics settings to look better than those washed out screenshots on the PC>

That video does night make a Xbox360 no competiton for PS3. You can have the hardware, but if you don't have the game user base then it's nothing.

There are just too many variables to include a PC in this comparison.
Now don't get me wrong... If I had to choose between a console and my PC....I'd throw the console right out the top floor window without hesitation.
Show me you being able to do 1/100 of the things you can do on a PC on a 360 or ps3. People don't include the costs because when you buy a console, you buy something to play games. When you buy a PC, you buy something to play games, check email, surf the web, do programming, download music/movies/tv shows/files, watch movies, burn music/movies/tv shows, write papers, create slideshows, create spreadsheats, I could go on and on. You don't compare the prices because you are looking at nearly everything a console does compared to a fraction of what the PC is used for.
As for those screenshots, I think the PC wins hands down, followed(to my surprise) by the 360. If I were to buy a console, I would personally buy a 360 simply because I refuse to buy anything from sony. But I'm not going to buy a console, I can play my sister's Wii if I want to, and I would rather spend $200+ on a new graphics card than a new console(I ENJOY tinkering, building, and upgrading my system).

you can install a shitload of Os's on the ps3. one yokel even installed xp on it...lol...loon he was.
but it runs several versions of popular linux Os's. So...to be fair... the ps3 does just that. xbox...not a chance.
oh btw, did you know the xbox has above 33% failure rating? the ps3 has 0.2% failure rating.

I own both so I dont give a crap wich one is best, I like them both, but I generaly buy my game on the 360 if I have the choice mostly because I have more friends who own a 360 then a ps3 and online is so much better and easier to get into a game, you cant even send a message to your friend on the ps3 while playing a game...
if it wasnt for that I would go for the ps3 because of hdmi (yea I know now its got it,but mine hasnt) + it doesnt sound like a hoover when I play a disk. And what I like about ps3, its much sexier, the 360 feel like cheap plastic, and that freaking huge power supply.

What in the hell is this for? Clearly Pc dominates any console. There IS a reason consoles are called consoles people. All you need to do is look at the tree's and you can clearly see PC wins hands down. You can make a PC that has 10x better tech than any console. This is the sole reason why more and more developers are talking about consoles coming to a standstill. There are plenty articles out there that talk about how consoles may be coming to an end. The technology has bypassed console tech by almost ten fold. Just look at how expensive it was when PS3 added a Blu-Ray player to thier latest system. You can find Blu-Ray players for cheap now for any PC, some spots are selling them for under $200 and even $100. This is also the same reason games on PC are harder to develop. To many configurations on PC's compared to one configuration per console. Pretty much the only reason developers chose console over PC when creating games, easier and less expensive. ANyways, this vs crap is kinda retarded. Maybe if it was just consoles or certain brands of PC's vs each other. But PC vs anything an PC wins hands down. If you think not, you might want to check in to the nearest eye doctor.

That article is WAY OLD dude. He wrote it at the one year mark of the ps3 and it's now OVER a year old even now... no sale even close.

Also I buy a console because I know it will get the big name games I want and I know Ill be able to play them. Companies are starting to hold back on the PC because they can sell so many more copies on consoles. Now I do enjoy working with my computer but I don't hae the cash to do it often. I make a one tim epayment for a console and don't have to worry about weather or not it can handle Mass Effect 2 or Halo 4.

The price difference between a DVD reader and DVD writer is getting really small lately. According to Newegg you're looking at about $25 for a DVD burner and about $17 for a DVD player.

PC always will look better by the time the CONSOLE (what ever kind) launchs its outdated. The XBOX/PS3/WII whatever will never take over as far as better than PC. Most want PC/CONSOLE in one.
Consoles are nothing more than a motherboard with everything on it. Set up to just play games. So you have a dumb downed PC. That wont play the same games at 60+fps you cant tweek SOOOO many options blah blah. But like some here I too have them no WII but .. PC looks better
The reason why I would buy a console or PC is because of the game. Even if its just 1 game.

Yup, because of the game. I bought the PS3 because of Tekken, but after knowing that tekken 6 would also be released on Xbox360, I should have bought an Xbox instead.
I'm more or a PC guy for two reasons.
1. Certain games are just better played on PC and they happen to be my favorite three genre mmo,Fps,Rts.
2. Mod communities, PC games have infinit replay value due to mod communities. Just look at HL2 that game has so many awesome game and multi-player mods hell certain mods even change the game totally.
You can get that on a console.
Anyway I out grew Fighting games and thats the only reason to play console OH and madden cause EA are a bunch of PC haters!
