Turn Based Strategy Game

I just wanted to make this post due to some negative reviews of this game.

Atlantica Online is a turn based strategy game.  This means that combat is going to be different than combat in other MMO's like WoW, WAR, EQ2... etc.

If you do not enjoy turn based combat, please do not come on here and say the game is crap because of that.  It's the same as complaining that WoW is not a FPS.

I personally have been enjoying the game more than any other including the big boys who have a HUGE amount of money to throw into developing their games.

Also, this is a F2P game.  Please keep this in mind too.  The graphics are not groundbreaking and new, but they are more than good enough.

Anyhow, I'm going to end my rant here.  I think this game really has something special about it, and it is annoying to see people post bad reviews when they obviously havent played for very long at all.  Anyone can log into a game, kill one thing and write a review.  Problem is, the only thing you are basing your review on is that tiny bit of experience.

    You either like turn based or you don't.  I'm a Final Fantasy fanatic so I love turn-based combat.  There are those who like to click on a mob and sit there and do nothing while your character kills it. I don't, I like strategy

    The turn based combat is not the only hting that people dislike about this game. Many people play its because they are 13 and dont have  a credit card/cant affor the monthly fee.

    What annoyed me when i tried this games was having a painful ui, no character customisation, and even thought the textures were decent and the art wasnt made using paint like most f2p its didnt have good graphics. Good graphics doesnt mean siny effects everytime you hit. It mean being able to far and see architecture thats far away. Light effects that arn't just an abuse of bloom. It means complex shadows and decent texture filtering.

    The worst thing about this game is that liek all F2P games, if you are a hardcore player you will end up spending much more money than you will paying a sub.

    Sure if you've only played f2p games this one looks good.

    But before you say this game is so amazing try a few other ones.

    I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long.

        It seems that alot of people look at Atlantica and give it 2 strikes before they even try it:

    1. Turn based

    2.F2P with item mall

    3. Any other thing they can nitpick

      

             If you go into this game with an open mind I think most players will like it....If you go into Atlantica with preconceived prejudices then you wont.......I have heard players say this is just like all f2p games when really it is nothing like any other f2p game..... You ehar alot of them "oh turn based is too slow" or "the action isnt fast enough" blah blah blah......Trust me when you and 2 others are fighting 27 on 27 at level 100 there is more going on than in any of your wow raids and there isnt some 15 year old guild leader telling you exactly what to do to beat it........

    --Not true at all.  I am in a nation a A LOT of other people and most of us are adults.  Not all F2P attract the same people and if the game is fun people will play it regardless.  The idea that only children play this game is hilarious.

    -- I keep hearing how bad the UI is, and I just don't get it.  I haven't had any trouble with the UI at all.  I also can see very far away so I am thinking that these complaints must be due to computer specs.  I did go in and change all my settings before I started playing, but I do that with every game.... 
    --As for the complaint about graphics.  This game may be a new release here but it is an import of a game that was created years ago and was successful in Korea.  As self important as we all think we are, they are not going to build a new game just for us.  Sorry guys.
    --Character customization... keeping hearing complaints about this too so Im going to comment on it.  When you create your character you are limited to a few different styles.  If I was staring at the same character all the time, I would agree with you, but you aren't.  In this game you have 9 characters you control at a time.  Thats NINE different characters that all look totally different.  I love character customization but in this game, what would be the point?  Would a couple different hair styles or colors really make that big a difference when you are wearing armor... Come on...

    --Hardcore players dont mean you spend a lot of money on your character.  Hardcore means that you spend a lot of time to pimp them out.  ALL of which you can do without the player shop.  It sells things that are convenient but it doesn't automatically make you hardcore.
    Sure if you've only played f2p games this one looks good.
    But before you say this game is so amazing try a few other ones.
    -- I have tried a ton of F2P games as well as games that have the normal $15 price tag on them a month.  You are wrong to come on here and make the claims you have about the people who play this game.  All the people who play this are not 13 and are gaming nubs.  Sorry if this is coming off a little harsh but it is frustrating seeing posts like this where it's obvious the OP is judging the game before they have even played for a decent amount of time.

    I don't know if you are saying I am a poser or not. I also don't know what "live hardcore" means -- or rather I think I have another idea of what that would mean...
