the only one who fails here is the OP and the ammount of subs this game has says otherwise and nothing will tell me otherwise il be buying this game asap
I don't know if the fails.. but his premise sure does.
He's posting with the assumption that the MAJORITY of people waiting to play Aion are all PvP heads and that no one will care about PvE content and raiding, and THAT's why he thinks it will fail. Because the Pvp is bad/borked. Err.. this isn't Warhammer with a PvP focus so they ignore the important stuff, like quests and fun.
While the game has included the Abyss for Pvp and pvp will play a part, I simply do not believe that most gamers waiting for this game are simply going at it for the pvp value. I believe most are actually going for the PvE content, raiding, crafting and whatever additional stuff they put in. Those folks will do the pvp after they experience most of it, not as the main course. Most gamers play that way with pvp as an afterthought, not as the focus. It's usually done when they are curious or bored with the main content in most MMOs.
So if this "Hero" thing or pvp isn't working as intended, the majority of people will not take Aion and put the disk in the microwave. The small numbers playing Aion that have been let down from Warhammer and AoC and that are tired of Wow's pvp may quit, but the majority will stay around. Why?
If the PvE content is as good as advertised with plenty of questing and there is enough raiding in the game for groups, that will keep this game more than alive in NA/CAN. Apparantly as "broken" as the Pvp is, there seems to be enough PvE content and such to keep half of Korea interested enough, so /chuckle. Those folks don't seem to be quitting in droves, and they are the ones actually PLAYING it, not speculating on it.
And frankly, if Aion's pvp is not so hot, the Pvp folks would probably just go back to:
1) Warhammer 2) AoC 3) Wow or wait plenty more months after Aion is released for GW2 or something else. So they really don't have a lot of choice in the matter. Given Aion is several months from releasing my side of the world, they have plenty of time to work out any kinks.
People who go nuts before a game is officially released always make give me a bellylaugh.
Over 20 million people played Lineage 1/2 for the PvP content, so the people are there. I wouldn't be interested in Aion if it were a PvE game with PvP as an option where you sign up from a NPC, or goto some secluded area just for that purpose...I'm playing it because its a PvP(vE) based game...I'm sick of games trying to accomidate everyone, they have everything do do, but usually lack in each area because of it. A Game like WoW or War where PvP is put into arenas, instances and areas just for the purpose of PvP can't and never will compare to a PvP based game, the experiences are just totally different.

LOLOLOLOL 20 million. Maybe 4 million.
LOLOLOL you know this are showing people playing at one moment? And 4mln was playing L1/L2 at one moment in 2005. But he is talking that more then 20mln people TRIED THESE GAMES not played at one moment... Please troll more.
Me and 2 of my frends (Glad, Cleric, and a Ranger) went out on the abyss to kill some mobs. We ran into a group of 3 elyos and kicked there butts. Went back to grinding when a high lvl jumped us, 3 more low lvls pitched in to fight the guy off. All and all we held our own and was able to hold our hunting ground. It was so much fun going from pve to pvp in a blink of a eye.
This is the way the game is ment to be played and its a blast. large open world with no loading maps.
If you call that a fail train then buy me a ticket folks, because its a train to fuk yea

Is it so hard to understand that people are getting tried of being handed crap with every new release that hits the market? People are expecting games to be released better because the comp is high with games that have been out for more than a year. This is especially true with games that have a PvP focus. When all a game has is PvE, class imbalances are almost a non issue unless 1 character can complete a 40 man raid by himself. I expect more now and I've been playing MMOs since about 2000. And yes, everything this game has sounds like a carbon copy Korean game. Well... maybe not the grind.
Trashing a game based on assumptions simply because you've been disappointed by other releases, is very childish. Also these other releases had a hard time mostly due to people like you not understanding what the first year of any MMO looks like.
If you expect more, then expect to wait for 10 years for new MMOs to come out.

What you dont under stand is that there is a very simple soultion to this problem, a complet open beta for 6month to a 1 year, not 30 days. A year would get all the bugs worked out. Would it be the complete game? Of course not, that would be bad for biz, but it would work by forcing people to try content.
Furthermore, don't lump into the crowd of people that jump from one MMO to the next. I know games are going to have bugs at launch and some may not be playable, but in a game that is grind based there should be an anti botting system in place from day 1, in a PvP based game there should be anti hacks in the game from day 1.
P.S. I'm still play AoC and I'm not trashing the game just the PvP aspect of it.

An open beta for a year? Are you insane? O.o They already have closed betas that last that long and longer, some of them that are quite easy to get into and that still doesn't help, explain how this would do any good at all and not create more harm to the game by having people playing for free for that long? Furthermore time is money, I am not sure any developper would be to afford something this big and still manage to stay afloat.
Where did you get the beta? or how are you plauing lol i have been waiting to play for so long
You can buy the Korean version and play it.
