First of, happy new year and I hope you all had a great Christmas. I am ''new'' here, so yeah..
I Want some suggestions on which P2P mmorpg is worth buying these days.
Some mmorpgs I have excluded ( and please do not go Off-topic because of this):
1) WoW
2) EQ2
3) DAOC
4) TR
5) Vanguard
So this pretty much breaks it down to some few games. I have thought about AoC and WAR. So if any of you have played both and have a view on it, please do share. BUT only if you have played BOTH you can choose the one over the other. OFC i would like some good/bad words about both of them.

Of the choices you give, not knowing what you prefer in a game, I'd go with WoW. It offers everything in the high-fantasy genre(PvE, PvP, farming, et al), looks decent, and runs well on most systems. Plus, with a recent update, the graphics were improved, with greater depth and better shadowing. It will keep you busy till the spring, when a bunch of new MMOs are coming out. Then, you might check out Aion, based on your list.
Please, take TR off that list. It's being canned Feb. 28, and it's free to play, now.
Forget AoC, I played it a few months when it came out, then retried it less than a month ago. Tortage is fabulous. Unfortunately, it highlights how empty the rest of the game is. Once you hit level 45, you will be tearing your eyeballs out looking for content. PvP is still a free-for-all, and the Murderer update helped little in thinning out ganking. Plus, with them constantly delaying server mergers, most of the game will have you making friends with your favorite NPC.
Just wait. AoC is an abysmal bore, though the potential was there, the dev's didnt deliver on well-rounded PvE/PvP content and meaning, and people left in masses. Was fun for the first month. WAR was fun for the first month too until you realize that the RvR is so damn redundent and there is such a huge lack of feeling that your doing anything more that what you did 5 or 10 levels earlier, it gets mundane quick.
Hello and Happy New Year,
It really depends on what sort of experience you want (PVP/ PVE).
PVE- Lord of the Rings Online. I am still currently playing it. Started one of the new characters and was thrilled to see that there were plenty of people in the lower level range to fellowship (group) with.
PVP/ PVE- WAR- This is a very fun game to me. Lots of character choices, RVR populations are high with the new incentives. There are some decent innovations in the game with Public Quests, etc.
AOC- (PVE/PVP)This game is not a bore actually. It is a good game and getting better. the problem here is they lost so much of their population the servers are empty making it hard to do some of the tougher quests. The graphics are awesome and the combat is fun. I hated PVP originally and never tried it again though I have heard it has improved.
D&D online (PVE)- I have not played this one in some time but I have read it is still a pretty solid game for PVE and group play.
City of Heroes/ City of Villians- (PVE) Graphics are getting dated but the gameplay is fun and it gives you a different experience. Of course, with DC Online and Champions online I don't know what the future holds for this game.
I suggest trying guild wars for PVP and LOTRO for PVE.
Playing: WoW and Guild wars faction.
waiting on: GW2 and next WoW expansion
played: flyff, diablo2, maplestory, dungeon runners, eudemons online, conquer online, runescape, decide online, perfect world, and atlantica.
If you HAD to choose one of them, which would you go for?
I suggest you describe what you're looking for as not everyone enjoys the same things you do in a game.

That is true. Sorry for not giving informations on that part.
Well, why I have both AoC and WAR ''in sight'' is mainly because they both look appealing, regardless, the differences that might be. That is also why I said I would want SERIOUS opinions from people who have tried both games SERIOUSLY.
AoC: The way you fight. The combat system is appealing. I enjoyed Risk Your Life for its fighting style and was amazed at DDO when I played the trial ( not liking the complication in the game, but the fighting style was... AMAZING!) Classes, the freedom in PVP, player made cities, clan system. Basically the PVP, I SUPPOSE.
WAR: Read about the story and places and so on. It has a brilliant storyline ( hoping to see it in the quests that is). I like the classes and good v dark too. I still do not see the difference between the RVR in WOW and WAR so I can not say RVR is preferable since I hated PvP in WOW.
It sounds like you are already very interested in AoC. If not then go with your gutt feeling on which you might enjoy the most according to the description of a game. They all offer trials so why not try them all.

Well as said, the fighting system is my biggest excitement. But I am not gonna buy the game if the fighting is the ONLY thing worked on while the rest of the game is laying in deep shit?
