getting excited about runes of magic

in Runes of Magic

It's supposed to be a wow clone (which is fine by me), but it has L2 like PvP servers!!!  If the game is actually good I might really love this....

Download is almost done, I'll let you know how I make out!  I'm not normally one to try F2P MMO's... so this could be a disaster =P.

    Is nice. Good production values (not excellent, just good). It has a decent map design, character, design, etc..

    Don't make sense to compare this to wow. WoW is a better World of Warcraft than Runes of Magic.

     Just cancel the download now. It's just as good as every korean grinder.

    I did the closed Beta and it seemed pretty cool. I am going back to the game today to try out the PVP Server. Is it Open PVP and is there a level you have to get before you can start PVP?

         Heh I hope your download goes better than mine did....After 8 hours when it finished it just disappeared....I did a seach and no files anywhere.......

    RoM looks nice. I mean the graphics are pleasing to the eye, not heavy anime with busty girls that look 12.

     

    I don't know if the game play will be any good, but I haven't tried a free MMO in a long time. Maybe I'll download it and give it a whirl.

    took me 2 hours to download yesterday... i created a frogsters account as instructed on their forums, and all i get is "accounts/password" error of some sort.

    Oh well it was worth a try.

    I got into CB and Open Beta, but i didn't really like it. I'm not really into grinders.

    I find (RoM) Runes of Magic to have as good production value as an Macro-Payment fantasy mmorpg available today.  Coming off the heels of 2008 where I was disappointed with PotBS, felt mis-lead by AoC, disappointed in the WAR hype not coming through, and utterly bored with the redundency of WoW, RoM is a very good culmination of the afformentioned without the cash-outlay of the other titles; that is until Darkfall is available.

    RoM has a full-time and very active development staff, I've found customer-service even in this open beta stage to be very responsive, the content to be very acceptable and competitive from story-line, graphics, community, non-mini-game style crafting, resource and item balanced, community pleasing, balanced PvE and PvP pleasing, skills development, etc.

    I wont be funding the other disappointing afformentioned titles anymore, and although I am having fun and feel that the entertainment value is very good, will turn my attention to Darkfall when it is available.  But none-the-less, there is no reason to make the high level of macro-payments to other titles for the meantime while this game is available, I find.

    the game has a very good future in my opinion. it is kinda buggy and unfinished but they are in beta still and thats normal. i dont think it is fair to compare this game with WoW in terms of been finished and polished since they still in beta and wow is a 4 year old mmo with 2 expension packs out. just go online and find some videos of WoW Beta phase or right after realese and u see how good RoM is doing

    You have to create the account on the RoM website and for the version you have downloaded, it's dead easy:

    For US go here: RoM US

    For English International go here RoM EN

    actually I had the same problem, the fix was to go into the files and make sure it was trying to connect to the US server... then set that file to read only so it doesnt get screwed up again.

     

    I tried about 3 other supposed fixes before I found this one and it worked.
