This kind of thing happens all the time in Turkey, in case you guys were wondering.

I once went to Istanbul.  Ghost punched me right in the groin and stole my traveler's cheques.  True story.

Of course something like that doesn't get much power unless people do something to invite it.  The term invintation is really really broad even using some religious defense would be considered one.

This also means that Kurush wanted to be punched in the groin and have his traveler's checks stolen

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I was on a dinner date with a girl from a near bye town that I had met via the internet.  Halfway through dinner she mentioned that  she had a special gift.   "Oh really... What is it? I asked.   "I see dead people and my dreams come true".      There was a long awkward pause and then she changed the subject:  "There is a guy who I met a few weeks ago that I'm not interested in, and I don't want him to call me anymore... What could do to make him stop calling me without hurting his feelings? "     To that I reply... "Tell him you see dead people".

I had an apartment on my own for a year.  It was the worse time of my life.  I hardly got any sleep.

Everytime I went to bed I swear it felt like someone was watching me.  I would tell myself that it was my imagination playing tricks on me and do everything I could to shake the feeling but it would not go away.  There were many nights when I would leave the light on or the tv on in my room (like that would do anything, lol).

It was so bad that on the weekends I would beg friends to stay over.  I lived by myself in an apartment before that and never felt that way and had a place alone after that too and was okay, it was just that one place.  I got a dog while living there to at least feel like I wasn't totally alone.

I don't know, just thought I'd add that in.  I would have stayed there longer but did not extend the lease for that reason.  For real, it was that bad.

It just means you're scared when everyone is asleep in someone else's room you're not used to.

Yes I called you a sissy, lol. Unscare yourself, there's no one there, it wil go away.

I had a true and real vision once

About a day before it happened I was talking to a friend of mine who told me that whenever she dreams, she always has nightmares...the dream that she described to me was in a room, the doors have bars on them and there is a hand coming through

After she told me about this I was laying in my bed wide awake and suddenly I just felt something pushing me down onto my bed, pushing me hard...I was laying on my stomach at this point and I had my eyes closed, I couldn't open them...I don't know if I COULDN'T open them, but something wouldn't allow me to...so I see this decrepid hand reaching through the bars at me, and I heard a sort of moan, not like the OOOOOH type of goofy ghost moan, more similar to what you hear in the song Viginti Tres by Tool...as I heard the sound I saw a pair of sunken in and glazed eyes sort of watermarked on the vision of the door itself...I could feel my eyes start watering, like I was going to cry, which is very unusual for me and only happens during things that are intensely spiritual or emotional...This lasted for about 30 seconds, all the while I was completely unable to move on my bed

The next day I asked her if her dream ever came with sounds or eyes...she said that it had before, and that when it happened in that way, she was freaked out about it for weeks.

I don't normally believe people when they tell me that they have visions and have experienced demonic attack and all of that stuff, but this was very real, even now as I think about it my eyes are sort of watering up again. (with Dane Cook in the background no less)

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

So let me get this straight.  You experienced temporary paralysis and mild hallucinations.  If you were either trying to go to sleep or had just woken up, this isn't really much to write home about.  It's not common, but it's not exactly unheard of or profoundly strange during these periods.

What you experienced is called sleep paralysis or "the old hag". It's more common than one might think. I have a friend who experienced it... he saw a dog with glowing eyes enter his room.

It's some creppy shit though :P

Don't you have to be at least sort of sleepy to experience sleep paralysis?  I was wide awake and it was only like 8 o clock, I typically don't even feel tired until 1 am, and get plenty of sleep.

You sure you didn't fall asleep and then experienced it? If you were wide awake and all of a sudden you experienced that, it would be really fucking strange.

Fact is though that the symptoms you get from sleep paralysis are exactly the same as the symptoms you described.

I don't think you experienced anything paranormal... just your brain playing a trick on you.

Yeah, I had a dream where some typical Hollywood Diablo / Demon was ripping out my intestines and strangling me with them. It was starting to cut off my private bits with a rusty saw a few moments later... so I woke up in terror and I could swear it was actually happening right there and then in my bedroom... I was screaming like a little girl until I looked down and noticed it was just morning wood.

A nightmarish experience, that was. Even though I know it wasn't real, I now have night-light and religiously wear a cup to bed.

    OH cmon guys....

Our being exists in 3 free dimensions, we're prisoner to a 4th (time) and science has proven the existence of MANY MORE dimensions...

Don't you think at least one of them has the potential for other life to be there?  And sometimes interact with our 3 dimensions?

how's that for keepig religion out of it?   Yet it still takes faith to accept this.

In response to the question of whether or not I had fallen asleep first..I am completely positive that I had not been asleep prior to the occurance....i read that sleep paralysis occurs when your body is having trouble shifting between the various stages of sleep, but since I wasn't at all tired and was just laying there thinking about what the girl had told me about, I am inclined to believe that it wasn't sleep paralysis.  Right after it happened I was wide awake again and told my roommate about it...Furthermore, the fact that the next day when I asked her if she had ever had the eyes and sound part of it, she told me that she had, and that when those parts of the dream were present (this was a recurring dream for her that sometimes changes, she had initially only told me about the hand coming through bars part) that she had become really reALLY freaked out for about  a week.  I have a hard time believing that my mind just filled in the blanks in a way that matched up with the exact dream that she had had before...even if sunken eyes and wailing are not all that uncommon, given my past with this girl, I would not doubt for a second that our minds function on the same frequency, so to speak.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Indeed these things are scary. I once had similar experiences. It all started when i saw some candles inside one of my friend's school bag. After i talked to him about it, he invited me to his house. He told me that he was "just" practicing spiritism.

He told me that they used the candles for concetration, but all of this was enough to create a creepy environment. After i joined them around a table for several minutes, the table suddenly started moving up and down like crazy.

I did not know how they did that but when i asked them they told me that they did not know the real cause of this. It was perhaps the union of several minds on a single object or even "worse" or "better" a contact with a beeing of a different state. After my fear was replaced with curiosity i started taking part in all this and i even read books about it.

According to this kind of meta-religion you are a "medium" or you live near one. A rare one. Most people can cause this phenomena, but few can hear or see things that some describe as spirits and some as proof of time gaps and distortion.

We stopped all this since after some time it went out of control and we actually had more questions than answers. One of the most strange things was that some of these "contacts" had a kind logical behavior that sometimes was beyond our senses.

You have two choices, enhance it or forget about it. I'd say forget about it. I did not earn anything positive from it and these were actually wasted years.
