MMORPG Problem

I've been downloading a hell lot of MMORPGs and I'm not getting the fun it used to bring me. I'm getting pretty bored of MMORPGs for no reason. I like the gameplay of them, the friends, everything. But I can't play it for more than two months. And don't say, "Different people are interested in different styles of MMORPGs," cause I already quit a lot of them. I don't want to quit MMORPGs either. Is there something wrong with me or does this kind of stage happen to a lot of players?

I can't believe I typed all that.

Well for MMORPGs there's really only 1 flavor.   Even WoW and EvE has enough similarities that it's annoying(note to an MMOer there is soo many difffereances that I die 15 ways in the next 8 posts).

You should consider something that this site doesn't consider an MMO. Enjoy some time on something like Astroempires, Imperial Conflic, travian, or Neveron while catching up on reading real books or other video games.    You could also browse something like gametap, I mean Psychonauts is free and that's an awesome platformer.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Tried Travian, Hobo Wars, Prison Struggle. Didn't like em much.

You could always try neveron...   It's like the EvE of browser games.

Granted that really wasn't the point.   It was to get away from MMOs for a month or three.    There's so much other stuff you could be doing.    I mean the option for picking up a technical skill(like programming) or two is seriously there if you aren't bothering with MMOs.

I play sports until my muscles hurt. And I'm still surprised I get bored of MMORPGs so fast even if I spend the least of my time on MMORPGs.

Nothing wrong with you. Its just time for a break. Take off a month and soon you will find the fun you used to have

Play something else for a little while, like a First Person Shooter, or a Real Time Strategy.

I would go to a single palyer game like Oblivian, or like Fallout 3,  shake it up abit..   heck  try that game  Mount & Blade  that game looks awesome for a single player game...  If Mount & Blade was an MMO  WE ALL would be trying that game...

I would suggest the game stalker if you are bored with the mmo games at the moment.

Stalker+oblivion lost (mod) and play it on hell and you have one of the better game experince a head of you. The game is a real wonder for you pepole that are looking for something diffrent and more diffcult than most of the game out now.   Going throu the lost city of Chernobyl with the fine soviet architecture setting up the stage , the big Paris well in the horizen, your radar is ticking and knowing all hell will soon break lose is for me the greatest game experince since Chrono Trigger hit the stores the first time.

Oh man. Now I need to install it once again.

To really get away, he should try something like turn based strategy, or perhaps a simulation/resource game.

Sounds like you need a breath of fresh air, as proposed by others, a different type of MMO maybe.  The most popular and different MMO right now is probably Atlantica Online.  I play it sometimes, but I play several different games also.  I lose interest in almost anything after a couple of hours (yay ADD  )

I really miss the MMOs of past.  DAoC, FFXI, and EQ are the only games, not just MMOs, that I could sit and play all day without losing interest.  Developers need to stop making WoW clones and make clones of these 3.

Do what I do when I am out of MMO's to play, find a new one with http://www.theburialgrounds.com/Finder.shtml and if you already played or don't like the results, wait for Guild Wars 2 whenever it comes out that is .

I have the same problem if I start a MMO by myself..however if I start a MMO with my clan, I'll stay interested indefinitely as long as everyone else is interested and active.

When I started college I put all of my MMORPGs on the shelf.  I found that I either did not have time because of school, or just plain had real life things to do.
It's funny, I had a very similar situation.  I tried to download/find another MMORPG that I liked during this time.  I think I was just in denial thaT I did not have time or really feel like playing.  I figured that I just stopped having any interest in MMORPGs
In my opinion, you'll either move on to a different genre, or get the urge to play after a break.  Sometimes a bit of time off from MMOs is just the right medicine to get playing something new, or going back to something you used to like.
