I've just joined up here - but seems like a great community and obviously well organized and administrated boards.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask - I'll just plant myself here all day including when I go play ( GuildWars offers a 'windowed mode' so that you can easily Alt+TAB between other windows ).

I'm getting insanely slow download speeds. What ports does Guild Wars use? I have a cable modem and my speeds go from 1KB/s to 20KB/s...

That IS not good.
I have cable modem and I've always got 90 - 140kb/sec DL times. In two years of the ArenaNet servers bein gup - they've only gone down 2 times
no longer than 15 minutes. But that doesn't attest to slow times... Are you in the US ? I'll check on ports.

I have a dlink router and that is the only thing I can think that could be the prob.
On the IGN boards I've seen that a lot of other people are having slow speeds as well
