So I have been reading good things about LOTRO and decided to try the new expansion and resub. I buy the game, put in my product key and get the error message in the subject line. I search on the message on the internet and get a bunch of hits. My account still shows "inactive".
For a game to is getting such good reviews they sure do have a very amateur billing system. Anybody else having this problem? I will give them until the end of the day on Monday to resolve it else this game will be dead to me. Are they in business to make money?

Buying the expansion does not give you free subscription time. You have to make subscription just like you would normally.
Otherwise if you did buy subscription time - there is also some problem with error message in last two days.

I followed the buttons on their "Renew" page. Screw them. They are a pathetic amateur organization. I don't see this game lasting much longer.
Accepting money should have been the first line of code written before the expansion was even designed. There is no excuse.
I got this message when I tried to resub the other day. I sent in an email and have yet to hear back yet.
I have called but of course it's holiday season and I couldn't get ahold of them. I plan on calling again tomorrow and I'm assuming it will not be a problem.. we'll see.
I'm wondering if I got this message because previously I was billed on the holiday special at 9.99 and that's not an option to when resubbing.... of course I wish it was tho.
Anyways - I haven't gotten back yet, but am still looking forward to it. Don't give up so quick and blame them for not wanting your money. I'm sure when it comes down to it they'll be happy to take your money.
I experienced this same issue today when I ordered the digital download of the expansion from the official site. From what I've read on the official boards, it's related to our earlier promotional pricing.
The digital download listed a price of 9.99 for the sub; so I sent in that form to account management with the following:
I have the number for account management in my BB to call tomorrow if I don't hear back on my submitted ticket by 12pm PST; that way I'll speak with a live rep and get it squared away. If they can't, I'll just call in to my cc company and stop charges on that transaction.
If you get your account squared away, let me know! I think I'll start on Landroval again, but I'm not particularly attached to it; so if you want to start up some new characters around the same time; drop me a PM and I'll meet you in game.
In the intermin, seems like a massive download and patches; so I'm not going to be playing anytime soon regardless until that and the account stuff is resolved.

Just a follow up on my brief attempt to resub to LOTRO:
Payment is still pending from the credit card side of things; but will come off the monent it does post. I can't see myself going this again in the future. Color me unimpressed and not entirely sold on the customer service experience with Turbine thus far.
