I do not know if there is a topic on this so. Does anyone know if and when there will be open beta in North America or is it alrdy here and i just cant find where to sign up. flame if u must but just let me know

No open beta for us. We will get a preview event when we will be able to play for free for a limited time with no pressure or expectation to report any bug at all. This will happen at some mysterious date in 2009.
So stay tuned.

wait...how is this dissapointing? Unless I'm missing something, but most people seem to use open beta as an excuse to play for free but NCsoft is just saying play for free hassle free for a week like the other posted stated. Don't get me wrong i'm just curious what's so dissapointing?

Yeah -df is out on the 20 something of january - shortly after my b-day. However, I don't particularly care - I want Aion. Also, those animations in df make me want to throw up all over my monitor to block the horrible thing out.

Yeah animations dont look too good, most ppl will look past them though.
I have to agree you can live with bad animations or even graphics if the game is a lot of fun and pulls you in.
I'm curious about DF I might try out the OP if I can, don't think I'll play passed it but I like knowing about about other games.

I can't. I tried WoW a while back and the graphics were like a bad itch that I couldn't scratch. I simply could not ignore how bad they were. I can handle long grinding in a game if it looks nice but wow's graphics are disgusting.

you should try FFXI then.
I also want to try DF eventhough I really want Aion more. However I don't know if I can look past the bad animations.
Im pretty sure it will come out sometime in march
