best duo?

Hi, if me and my wife were to play, what would be the best duo for us to see most of the game....duoing as well as getting groups.

I prefer to melee and she likes ranged damage and healing/buffing.

Are the two new classes a good duo or should I just go guardian/lore master?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Yep the 2 new classes would be a good duo, the warden is a melee tank and the runie is a dps caster/healer

Great, thanks for the input....does that make the most capable or would a Champion/Lore Master be better?

Also, how cool do the Wardens and Rune Keepers look?  I know Champions look really nice at higher lvls, as do hunters.

The two new classes would work well - my wife and I have played the minstrel/champ combo up to 60 and that's a fabulous combo.   Great survivability, and dps able to handle large and small pulls.    Remember champs aoe so there isn't much need for crowd control and minstrel destract makes control'd pulls easy -- also minstrels get a mez undead which is great where that applies.

Thanks, never thought of adding a minstrel; that would have to be her though!

There is alot of great duo classes in lotro, the mentioned champ - ministrel is a sure winner, but another duo worth mentioning is Captain and Lore master; both have heals, rezz, pets, power heals. The Lore master has superb crowd control skills and the Captain has the best buffs in the game and can tank almost anything with a shield equipped.

I also suggest one of you go Scholar as their crafting profession. They can make Healing pots, Power pots, scolls which provde armour and damage buffs and Lore Master class items. The other I suggest going yeoman vocation. Eventhough they are not popular, they can provide people duoing with some amazing food, which gives stat buffs and HoT. A yeoman is also needed to farm Sweet-shire leafs, which the Lore Master needs to rezz.

    Happy Hunting

    I concur:

While the two new classes; Warden and Rune-keeper are a great duo to play the main downside is remembering that the RK is a 'glass cannon' and can draw aggro away from the Warden and onto themselves, which can be a problem if you're equipment isn't as up to par as the RK.

My wife and I play, and we've had a lot of good results with the Lore-master/Captain duo team.  Each of those classes allow a pet to be brought into the fellowship which can help with battles.  My Lore-master is skilled more for support and the occasional 'throw down' skill to help with DPS when needed.

We have other classes that we've pit together, but the overall results with LM and Captain have been our favorite and quite successful.

However, on the record you really can't go wrong with a Guardian and a healing Minstrel, either. =)

The great thing about this game - is that any two classes can take on almost anything ... I would suggest picking the class that looks like the most fun to you, and have your wife do the same thing... Even if you dont get a "reccomended" duo - you guys will probably be able to handle 95% of what any other duo could take as well...  My point here... Play what looks fun to you!    Even if you come out with a Guard/Hunter or Burglar / RK  type of non-traditional combo - I think you will still do just fine!

My personal recomendation is Guard / Capt  just for the record!  - Both with 2handed swords!

    How about "Funnest Duo?"

    Loremaster and Burglar ^^

with my minstrel I always enjoyed teaming up with a champ or a hunter. We could do some serious damage and if the hunter or champ was a bit lower in level I toss out a couple of nukes to pull and play tank with self heals while the DPS'er wailed away.

    I miss DAoC

I am interested to hear if the OP has started his characters yet with his wife ?  If so - What combo did you choose?

My hubby and I did a Captain and RK Combo. I'm leaning towards a tanky melee dps type Captain, and hes healing or dpsing as required.

Finding we are blasting through content :)
