Open Beta = "next stress test"

Yeah im pretty sure thats ob coming up they just called it a stress test.

    I wonder if they are going to confirm a release date anytime soon....

    If this is just another stress test then when is open beta? If it is open beta then why dont they just call it that instead of trying to confuse us?

    The fact that she's directly mentioning "stress test" and "open beta" as 2 different things leads me to believe that that's what they are. As much as I hope i'm wrong, i'm not getting my hopes up. At the very least it's a sign that things are moving in the right direction, but it kinda makes me doubt that st2 = ob.

    Its a strange move if they are 2 seperate things. I mean their previous statements have led everyone to think this is the time open beta would be. If they mean this to be a stress test, its still gonna be almost the same thing to the players.....a opportunity to play WoW as a comparison to EQ2 about to be out.

    So whether they mean it to be OB or not, their actions have really already defined this as a open beta from a consumer standpoint.

    Ok, so me and my boyfriend are stting here wondering what the deal is with saying "Stress" and not "Open"! This could mean many different things. Actually, I am gonna make this into a poll and see what you guys think. Just something fun I guess :D

    1. Stress will begin Nov 1, Open Beta Nov 8 , release Nov 22.

    2. Stress Test IS Open Beta, will begin shortly than release Nov 22.

    3. Stress will begin sometime next week, last until after EQ2 release, than a week or so after their release, a statement will be released saying they need more time to work on the game and start a whole new batch of close testers. (This is the one that my boyfriend believes, saying this is what they did with Diablo.)

    4. Stress will begin soon (in the days ahead....) and by some miracle release Nov 16.

    5. They have been internally working their tails off and by some kind of act of God, release Nov 9! (I know, this will never happen .. can't we dream tho!? :D)

    I could go on with guessimations, but I will spare you all the pain from reading on. I am sure we are all sick of the specultions. This poll was for the fun factor, remember that when choosing! (This will give everyone practice for Nov 2nd so choose wisely!)

    Could be wrong, but how the wording is.  Looks like cb are the ones testing the stress test.  If not if it is open to all then could be a good thing.  If I am right and cb is the stress testers.  Then could be a very bad move unless they think that there cb can support the game.  With how they handle there information seems to little information to the clients hoping to pay to play there game.   Seems to me that blizzard is spoiling there cb little to much.  With eq2 upping there release date, weekend of free guild wars and nov just around the corner.  No new info on ob just confuse tactics with stress test.  With shutting down cb looks like little closer to get to play wow again image

    Oh, yes and about the OB vs Stress Test. I think that they are calling it the same thing but it will basically be an OB. It would be pointless to have a stress test and then immediately after have OB. Lets just hope Stress test=OB. Even if it doesnt, it will still wrock

    this makes since but the time frame i would say would have stress test alittle longer and allow open beta to be only a week till launch.

    Well guys if u think about it what is open beta? just a big stress test huh they probly didnt say Open beta because people would start going crazy again asking "WHEN WHEN WHEN WHEN" and oh yeah they really gave the CB people a headsup before they just announced welll Closed beta is over :0 i hope its not like this with open beta well open beta starts today with no-pre announcent but i would be 1 of the first to dl it lol but i dunno bout other people.

    Think about it, what's a stress test? You try to overload the servers with too much information. The quickest way to do this? Get as many people playing at once. How do you get tons of people playing at once?

    1. Set a mandatory time for everyone in cb to be online, if they don't, kill their cb account.

    2. Open Beta.

    Which do you think?
