Best Populated Server?

I'm on bismarck now and it seems very low on population, whats a better server with more population.

The best populated server is Odin, fortunately, they closed off any other incoming players because it's over populated. Better populated servers aren't always the best as some of us say around here. I would give your server some more time before deciding to jump ship. If you do jump ship, Kujata has a decent population from what I've seen. So, if you do choose it, let me know. But I'd still suggest sticking to your current server.

We should make up a new server to send people to. Like when people say "where should I play?" We send them all to hell ... err .. Asura. Then we can see how fast they fill it up and prove that we ... the posters on mmorpg.com are the ones that created such a problem for Odin.

For some reason ,people never do /sea all,to let others know how their server is doing. This question by the OP is asked A LOT and not just in this game. You can easily see why people keep flocking to WOW,they know there is a lot of players.

IMO FFXI needs around 3k at all times to be a fairly decent server, yet the concensus i have gathered is most are around 1500-2000.Square is acting albeit a little late on the ODIN over crowding,i wish they would show some cahoonas and merge the other servers to allow for a much healthier game play, especially to new players.

You need servers to look busy especially in the noob zones up until Jueno,it keeps them happy and makes them feel like FFXI is their home for good.I have walked around Windhurst on occasions and saw a few afk/auctions and NOTHING else, first thing came to my mind was"if a noob sees this they will be turned off by the game and quit",Square  just does not grasp the concept.Still not as bad as SOE[EQ2],there servers were at 800 before they decided to act,LMAO FAR too late.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Man, Wizardy, i never seem to agree with you on this game.  At least I don't think so.  Maybe i should find something just to agree with lol.

I've posted my population counts a few times as well as Pandamonium's.  Right now there are 2602 on Bismarck and this is prime time in Japan.  This is probably the busiest i've seen this server.  And I just felt every bit of it.  Got an exp party a bit ago "Lets go to camp.  Damn, Taken.  Try Camp #2.  Damn, taken.  Try Camp #3. Shit, that's taken.  Camp #4, #5, even #6. Taken."  We wound up at a 7th camp fighting IT-- and VT+ mobs getting crap exp.  Why? because the server is busy.  You want 3k people on a server?  I cant imagine 400 more people to fight for parties with. (2622 people now).  True they should do something and they have.  The servers they had available for the free transfers were their low servers.  Now those are going to have a good influx of people and they've shut odin off for transfers, new characters, etc.  Could they have acted sooner? Sure.  But man, 3000 people?  Please god I hope not. (2631 people now)

Ok, I was on Ragnarok, did a /sea all during primetime on a Saturday night and I got about 1800 people on. I decided to transfer servers as I couldnt' find a party for the life of me.

I looked on FFXIAH.com, saw which top 5 servers had the highest economy rating, dediced to pick one in the middle of that list and came up with Bahamut.

Been playing on Bahamut, did a /sea all there and had about 2800 on during prime time on Saturday. Haven't waited more than 5 to 10 minutes for a party...and that as a MONK with no subjob(made a new character).

So glad I chose a different server with a lot of people. The dunes were rocking, so many people there the last few days.

Doesn't matter as much now with Level Sync, hell if one wanted, they could level 10-75 in the dunes all level synced. I won't go into how annoying that would be but it is possible. As it is, we have had a few level 65s join us for a level or 2 in the dunes.

I am really looking forward to getting back into the game and seeing how the level sync helps with leveling. Getting groups should be so much easier  since people won't have to be so strict with the levels.

Yes, it's been like night and day since the last time I played with getting groups fairly quickly now.

Good to hear. This is the major reason that made me quit the game years ago to begin with, and one of the main reasons I was wary of returning. Second thing was I didn't like level adjusting for doing missions and having to get armor of the appropriate level each time I did.

Now that they're both fixed, there are only minor issues, such as hating level down on death (don't hate losing exp, just losing level) and always having troubles with money, combined with the amount of money it costs to play certain jobs such as NIN/RNG/etc.

Called a tedious money/space wasting annoyance with absolutely no fun factor or actual challenge involved. Though I suppose if that's you're idea of a challenge...
