First Stress Testers?

So here is the question.

Are the people who where part of the first Stress Test going to get in on this go around like the Close Beta Testers are, or are we going to have to wait until there is signups?

    erh.... dumb question :P

What do you honestly, realistically think?

Stress Testers aren't as 'prized' as the closed Beta testers are... so i doubt it. CB Tester are allowed in early cause their accs are already activated etc.

    All ST accounts got deleted

I agree. CB testers get (special) treatment; everyone else including myself gets dragged along after the fact.image

Who said all Stress Test accounts were deleted? I was able to login and download all the patches, just couldn't log in the game and play.

The answer, no one knows until they announce it officially.

Yeah My accounts still there from Stress Test. I doubt they have a system in place to Leave the accounts, but delete stress test charactors, but NOT delete CB charactors. Its just not very likely. Its 30x harder to do then it sounds.

im already goingimage if its true that our stress tests accounts are not deleted i cannot wait to get into the next test!!

yeah all our ST accounts still exist, when we try to log in it version checks (and downloads patches) THEN it finds out that "Our prepaid time has run out" or whatever the exact wording is. They will probably re-activate the ST accounts... because the client will most likely be the same as it will save them the effort of creating another 100,000 keys and signups and crap.

That is actually a good thing for me. I just formatted about a week or so ago and lost my WoW ST client, so I would have had to dl another one anyhow.

Polar You have NO information to base that off of.

Your totaly just starting or relaying a Rumor.

    I very uninformed one.

Why would Blizzard SCRAP an entire build? They can PATCH it to change anything, I DOUBT THEY are going to change the Graphics Engine... Since that would take a year to do.

Why waste Bandwidth, and time? Thats like saying, Your car needs a paintjob, We'll start from scrath.

Yeah Im thinking the ST/CB client will be fine. I saw one post on the boards about a new client, so I searched the blizzard posts and it doesnt appear to have been announced. So I'm betting its a load of crap.

UPDATE: Beta testers have just recieved an email with more information. Namely, that their characters and date will not be wiped. However, downloading a new client will be required for the stress test. Finally, closed beta testers can play with their friends who were not selected, and still keep their characters. To read the entire letter, click the Read More tab.

Yeah, I would prefer if they have a new client. I deleted mine since I remember Blizzard said it was highly unlikely that the client will remain the same when it come to OB. The thing that sucked though was when I uninstalled it, it removed all my screenshots. I was really sad....

Yes a new client makes perfect sense, especially since the next patch/push will be well over a gigabyte in size. I base this on the previous small patches that were completed in 1 week with a size of 350mb+
Anywho, I am just ready to play retail!

I hate people that think they are better (prized) then others. ST got a taste of the game, CB testers made 60 possibly....All in All..EVERYONE will get wiped before release.

So what do I think?..ST have the entire game to look forward to. CB testers will do it again..faster and leave first when they get bored....And realistically..the only dumb question is the one not asked.

    Now STFU! image

    Hmmm, got a theory here....

stress test... closed beta people testing high lvl stuff... then they'll have the stress testers testing the mid lvl content. Finally, they'll let in everyone else (open beta) to test the newbie content. It makes sense to me, but who knows... I just want to play again! ::::02:: I played the first stress test and loved it. I can't wait to be playing once again.

By the way, the stress test accts weren't actually deleted. You can actually still test it out. Try and login which most people do know about, and you can actually download patches and stuff with your info. You just can't login and play because "This account does not have payed playing time" or some notice of that sort. I actually also have to say that CB people won't be "allowed in early", they will be allowed to download the new client early.

    From worldofwarcraft.com:

"Downloading the Stress Test Client - Indoflaven on 10/29/04
The client download will now be available to closed beta testers when we announce further details regarding the upcoming stress test here on WorldofWarcraft.com. It will not be available early as we originally indicated in the email we sent yesterday. While our initial plan was to offer the stress test client for download to closed beta testers ahead of time, this is no longer possible due to the extensive maintenance being performed on our servers. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Please enjoy your weekend!"

Since it's a stress test I imagine they want to test the download servers etc.

I've also been logging in my stress test account and downloading updates. It's no biggie if I have to download the whole thing again though. It's worth the wait. ::::02::
