200,000 concurrent users? That accounts to prolly 800k- 1mil subscribers. (Many MMOs have 1 or 2 out of every 5 players on at peak).
This is second month post release, bot problem can't be too bad....

It took NCsoft four years and 25 billion won (about $19 million) to release its latest title, but the lavish spending might end up looking like a bargain investment if Aion indeed proves as the heir apparent to the company's iconic ``Lineage'' franchise.
The 100 billion-won flops that were Richard Garriott and his Tabula Rasa now seem like distant memories.

It sure would be nice to have another nice game in the market. Based on past NCSoft games honestly I don't expect much in the way of a game I would enjoy for more than a month, but all the talk about the game seems to be pointed in a better direction.
Imagine what people will do if a game lives up to its hype.
They love any MMORPG that's grindy... case in point RF online.
I have my own concerns regarding that topic...since asia favors heavy grind type mmos compared to EU/NA what does that tell us about the game? The general idea I had was that Lineage type of games that featured very heavy grinding mechanics were more popular to koreans and alike just as WOW or WAR seem to be more popular in EU...I had hoped that Aion wouldn't resemble Lineage mainly on the lack of skill customization

We know it isn't that grindy already from people from EU/NA that have pld the korean version, so clearly that's not whats enticing the korean market. Anyway they love Wow over there too i thought.. they dont play War/aoc cos they both sucked.
I think Tabula Rasa was so expensive because it had so many problems and they kept rewriting parts of the game etc. Aion apparently went well from the off according to NCSoft.

Honestly I don't shun grinding games..WoW as a general example was acceptable...compared to lineage grinding system which was frightening, I had the general idea koreans loved heavy grind mmos and disliked more action oriented ones like wow...not saying they dont play them but it seemed they favored heavy grinding ones more...I'm still reticent regarding the skill system...i surely hope theres more customization to it, so far the stigma system wasnt very enlightening and knowing the koreans liked aion when they liked lineage for so long didnt tell me much either ways

Eruiel, Lineage 2 it's a 5-6 year old mmorpg so expect something different with Aion. They don't like grind games anymore and actualy they do enjoy Aion. Last time they had 37 servers and growing.

you r constantly saying koreans/asians like heavy grinding,like they r somekind of robots,,and thats is simply not true,,the case is that they obviously have more mmo studios that na/eu together, which are shiting mmos as we speak..and some of this asians like that shity games.and that some is few million cause their market is quite larger then ours mmo market which consists of wow,aoc nad war..big deal.and they have tons of games...eventho they maybe r grinds atleast they have more choice then wow or war.no1 likes grinding..NO1!
Aion better be doing awesome. NCsoft did not have a great year and now they are now starting the year with maybe being brought to court over something incredibly stupid.
They really need this success and to people wishing this company doom or playing the 'grinder' card, that's just sad. I'm imagining a toilet plunger where your mouth is right now.

Here's a thought that might help you pull your head out of your ass: NCsoft has an -extremely- diverse MMO line-up that doesn't suck.....not something any other company can say.

NCsoft has shown the willingness to diversify and try new things, even if it hasn't always worked out. I know I sound like an NCsoft fanboi, but I'm not, I just recognize that of the choices out there it's a pretty classy company.
Also has been stated and you can confirm this yourself, but probably about 65% of the WoW player-base is spready out over Korea and the rest of asia. The Asian market responded to the more solo-friendly leveling of WoW, with the group content very specifically seperated especially at end-game. Granted it was nothing new, WoW was just the first game to really break through in the Asian markets.

What KOREAN players and what I like are often not the same... not saying AION couldn't be a cool game I've no idea I haven't had a chance to try... but I'm sure the game will get a healthy population of players especially in Asia.

yeah lineage 2's 14 million players hadnt already broke the mmo market had they.
14 million?? Someone posted their updated sub numbers a couple days ago and it had L2 at around 1 million subs with 100k or those in EU/NA.........People really need to stop making up ridiculous numbers when it comes to these games.
Exactly, L2 does NOT have 14 million players. All people have to do is go to the NC Soft website and look at the quartery reports. Tbey have had 14 million people try the game.

City of H/V = Niche game that they were smart enuff to hitch there wagon to Cryptic(some moderate Western sucesss)
Lineage= Marketed for the Asia pop (Western failure)
Lineage 2= same as above
Guild Wars= yer right its not an MMo and wouldnt have 1/4 of its palyers if it was sub based..
Auto Assault = Fail
From everything i have read about Aion and NCsoft Western Track record i fully expect it to be a Western Fail....
