Having my comp upgraded atm to get me past minimum specs so i can try the game. Will have an amd sempron dual core 4.0 ghz processor, 2 gig of ram and a 512 mb pny geforce 8500 gt video card. How well will this run the game? Will I be lagging bad on low quality?

I think you will Do Ok with that setup. Tho I think vanguard like most games seem to hate the 8X00 Serries of cards.

You wont be on high But if you fallow the Manny threads about Tweaking your system you should be fine.

Easy solution: Download the trial and check if your comp can handle it.

First sticky in this forum. Download isnt big and the isle is nice.

It will be lagging bad. I had an 8600 nvida card and a amd 5600 card and couldnt play this game with low settings at 1920x1200. But if you play the game with a lower resolution then I guess it will work better.

I could only speak from the trial.

MY home computer has an 8800 gtx with 2 gig of ram, and I could play the trial at max settings no problems.

MY $700 HP laptop with NO upgrades at all players the trial very well. Some minor lag, hitching or what ever you call it. It came with a Nvidia 8600M GS, 4 gig RAM, and 64 bit OS.

YES, I only played the trial. But I asked here if the trial is a good rep. of the game and everyone told me YES.  Of coarse I could not test it in any major cities, but seems to play well in the small populated dungeon that the trial gives.

Sorry I could only give my small two cents, just trying to help !

I have an AMD 3800 at 2,2Ghz , a nVidia 6600 and 2GB of RAM and I only go below 20 FPS in Khal and other cities. I run the game around medium (I tweaked my settings).

I have played VG on highest settings with my machine and I have Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 4 GN 64 bit OS and I use Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card and it ran np at all. If i tried to box I got a bit of slow down but nothing too serious. As for using the trail Island I do not believe this hurst any system as much as the real game as it has been developed after theo original game came out.

I am not a fan of $OE but credit where credit is due they did try to reslove many problems, however it has been 10 months since I played VG and I will not be returning to play any $OE products due to other reasons which I feel strongly about and not gaming reasons, but I do not want to start a fanboi/troll steal of your post so will leave it at that. I will just add John Smedley tells lies and that's that...

Vanguard will run very well on some low budget machines.  If you build, make sure you research your hardware... I had a friend end up getting a phenom processor and he's had nothing but problems.

I rebuilt a 7 year old computer with this the following ($270 cost to rebulid):

GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

    Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel

8800 GTX Video card from my spare parts bin

    Original PS, HD

The above computer runs VG in 1600x1200 on high settings with around 80 fps outdoors, 25 fps in worse-case scenario raid situatoins.

My main rig is a 1.5 year old Alienware with the following:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6850 @ 3.00GHz

    4 gig DDR2 Mem_Frequency: 800 MHz

    8800 GTX Video Card

The above computer runs VG in 2560x1600 on high settings with around 40 fps outdoors, 15 fps in worse-case scenario raid situations.

Hard drive is huge, the old rig has a 7 year piece of junk, the Alienware has a raid.  HUGE difference in load times etc.

phenomx4 3gHz, 8gig ram (800mhz), 4870x2, 1920x1200 with vista (fresh install). Everything is very well chilled by good fans. Everything on max. Having  problems to get my fps stable when doing group dungeons and when im visiting major citys. Now its tearing from 10 to 60.  Have read at the offical forums that we  players have to live with that becuse of the code.

If you are planing on playing with that setup I strongly suggest that you should take a look at this tweaking guide. If you have any question, please send me an mail. Hope you will enjoy the game

If you have any success in getting that Phenomx4 to become more stable, lemme know.  That's my friends CPU and he quit raiding because of the fps flucuation and crashing.  He'd come back in a second if we could figure that out, but he's really bummed is 5 year old rig was more stable than his new build with that Phenom.
