Minstrel agro is not proper settings

The mob in Moria are always in a number, and this makes Soothing with long cooldown useless to cope with mobs in the instance. I also noticed that some mobs are even more ridiculous in which they pick up Minstrel right away as their first target when they just respawned.

If the system considered the healing quantity as attacking damage to the mobs then I think it needs to reduce the percentage greatly.

I noticed the same when in a  Moria instance.

However, the minstrel was 2 levels lower than anyone else in the group.  One player commented that mobs now attack the weakest member in the group, so the minstrel was a monster's first choice.

We had a good tank and group and still completed a hard mode instance.

I too noticed that mobs have been going after the player with the lowest level like crazy no matter how hard I try to hold agro.

The deal with agro since Moria really isn't focussed on the minstrel class (I play a 60 minstrel btw).   What I've noticed is that when turbine scaled up the DPS characters are doing and the DPS Mobs are doing to characters they somehow didn't get the math right for agro.  What I mean is this -- since without the healing and motivation legacy on your book minstrels are still healing for approximately the same amount pre moria (again legacies are required to improve the healing totals) minstrels are forced to heal more frequently and the agro effect is a direct result of what before would be over healing (but is necessary healing now).   The other complication is guards are having to relearn their classes because the threat generating effects on all their skills have been changed and they have to use a different combination of skills than they were previously used to to generate threat.    So Guards are having trouble holding agro, minstrels are healing more generating more agro, agro is tougher to control since folks are doing more dps and not sure how to deal with it -- those factors can be a real problem especially in pugs.   In a good solid group where folks are managing their skills it's actually working not too badly now -- especially since patch 1.    I still feel agro in general is very wonky but the minstrel issue is due to the healing.   Mobs in moria are tough and hit for a lot of dammage so it's forcing mins to be better equipped -- before I got a book with healing and motivation and bolster courage bonuses I was useing loot strings, anthem of compassion, song of soothing -- anything I could do to lower my agro.    Folks are having to burn more pots -- there is a lot of change to your game play in there because it's just harder content.   Is it broken? more I play it I'd say no -- you just have to play differently than before MOria.   Dilligently LOS those archers, focussed crowd control -- everyone is in charge of their own survivability, etc.   Keep going forward with it it should smooth over for you -- but look for a book with legacies that effect healing and motivation, bolster courage and raise the spirit if you can -- it makes a HUGE difference.

Minstrels do have more agro, archers are real pain, 16th hall is great example.

But i didn't loose hope when i saw lvl 54 legendary 2nd age book with -6 threat :). Combined with excellent legacies (healing and motivation, bolster courage, raise spirit and the one that removes dread) is more legendary then 1s age songbook my kinie got hehe.

LoTRO post 50 is no longer easy mode for Minnies, see some of my posts around the time of MoMs release. Aggro is more aggressive to healers but with a bit of prep is not impossible by any means. Here are some tips.

use a theobro for group healing not drums, flutes ot whatever

use lute strings. If you don't know a cook that can make you some look on AH , they are reasonable. Take a couple of stacks of 5 into a instance and use one every time the cooldown expires.

use Anthem of Compassion. keep it up in every encounter.

use your individual heals, save the group heals for after the fight and "oh shit" situations. Don't spam the heals and concentrate on keeping the tank alive above all. No deaths is preferable but if it comes down to push vs shove as long as the tank and you survive and the mob dies you can rez the DPS'ers as needed. The tank should also realize that keeping you alive you is his number one priority.

make sure the guardian is using his protection skills on you and stick very very close to him/her

On my kinship post Moria we have about 7 or 8 Minnies above 50. Out of that 7 or 8 there are 2 of us that play our Minnie on a regular basis and fairly successfully. A bit of bragging here but I helped 3 groups, 2 were all kinship group and one was split semi kin semi PUG with the watcher in the flooded treasury 6 man instance Sunday with zero deaths. It can be done, but you have to pay attention and use all the skills and tools  Turbine provides.

    good luck

I tend to accept to get agro from the mob attacking the one I was healing but it seems that healing is AOE agro. Other mobs just respawned came straight to me. How they get agro?

The Anthem ICON is poor visulized, there is no change when it is on and off.

If you playing in Forges at the last boss, everything is so red, it is hardly able to see anything. I used to have 45 degree angle in gameplay, But there are many places I have to change to horizontal view to be able to see: I warn you such kind of message. First because the background changed the angle view, second because it makes you really hard to move around while lava just nearby, and if you get kick by trolls into the cave, they will reset at once.

And now, I dont know if it is intended for cheat code or not, everyone went straight to the last boss. This instance sux.
