As a person who has played many many mmos. That MMO design is not unique at all. 1/3rd of all the mmos that come out of asia look like that. For the most unique, I would have to say Chronicles of Spellborn is the most high profile. Out of Asia there is Emil Chronicle that features a unique graphical renderer.
Looking at it doesn't look unique to me. I don't know if I've just seen way too many things but I looked at thought and immediatly thought, seen it before.
Current: Puzzle Pirates Waiting: SWTOR,Aion, CO Played: AC, WoW, SB, EVE
Maybe all the good games are stuck under a rock? I've played everything on this site and it's all pretty much been 1) Hell-ish terrain with fire and caverns and 2) Forest with trees.
I agree with that sentiment Korby. I have only played a handful of mmos that do something impressive with level design. Most mmos simply lack stuff in the environment. They also lack good looking aesthetic spots. I think a really bad point are with the woods, you don't feel like you are in woods. It feels like a flat plain with a few trees here and there.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
I can understand the OP. While I dont like the game mechanics of Asia MMOs, I always found western MMOs are so badly lacking in terms of visuals. Its not so much a matter of the actual details in pixels and line of sight, its a matter of visual beauty and diversity. In that, Asia in general is ahead of us. They have a very distinct sense of visual beauty, and that is visible in their landscapes, they clothing styles and everything you see in Asia games. Its a pity western games all look so dull. I mean, sure, gameplay is also important, but being a very visual person, I am SO tired looking at the WOW-WAR-AoC ever the same dull crap.

How? There is a lot of similar asian games so turn based isn't something special and the graphics is not different from many other F2P games either.
There is really no unique MMO, you have a few games that differs a bit from the rest like DDO, Spellborn and Guildwars but I wouldn't want to call any of them Unique. And only game in development that seems unique to me is CCPs "World of darkness online", the setting and system there seems to be very different from everything else we seen but since they are not talking so much about it, it is hard to really be sure of it.
OP -> See Aion. They have floating landscapes too .
If anything it would not be an asian MMO. I can guarantee that.
Age of Conan had some interesting visuals (in certain areas) and a unique art style to it. Based on the works of Robert E Howard. In comparison, their armorsets (endgame ones) look very different to what you see in most MMOs. Its low Fantasy.
WoW isnt unique any more since many have tried (and failed) at copying it. Otherwise I'd say EvE as well since there isnt anything currently on the market like it (even though jumpgate will be...soon (tm)).
Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.

Example of a Unique MMO = Atlantica Online.
I didn't see anything unique there. Certainly not on the gameplay front.

Looks like an asian LotRO...
Darkfall Travelogues!
I was referring to all the different terrains it has. I don't know anything about the game itself
Darkfalls has the best looking world.

2moons, Regnum, and Atlantica
The most unique I would say has to be EVE.

lol
Ryzom has the most unique game wrold design imo.
Nothing beat the look and feel of Atys and the mob AI takes the cake.
the game world is a living breathing entity.
Now if devs would just add more content to go along with this amazing game world ill sub lol.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom
Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum
most unique look that i can think of is FusionFall.com you can play it for free in open beta right now.

pacman is my favorite world. It has such diverse and varying landscapes and set the standard for AI that all developers continue to use.

EVE isn't unique, they just copied Jumpgate...
