Most damage against what though? A level 1 snake?

i would assume against a ^^^red mob. Usually you can whip out the damage on those guys but 1500 damage is like a cat scratch to these mobs

How does an Assasin do the most magical damage? Shouldn't a Wizard or Warlock be at the top of the list instead?

I my pet starts to mis-behave, do I beat him over the nose with a rolled up newspaper and yell at him, or just let him continue his horrific slaughter of the entire village?

Well I think it would depend how the hit was done. If it was a done during a heroic move I can see it being more powerful then a spell. From my understandings heroic hits are suppose to be attacks to do a lot of addition damage but if that is the case and melee class can do magical hits like that, what kind of heroic attacks do casters do?

Can you say class imbalance image

Hard to say that. We don't know how it was actually done or what it was done against as well. Also we don't know if there are any casters on the community site with their information visable for others to see and that might count they they aren't apart of certain list.

They should really explain what they consider "magic" attack and what is "melee" attack. If "special" attacks (which are on timer like spells etc.) are considered magic, does that mean that melee attack is plain vanila weapon hack (altho I doubt that's the case)?

Well if someone decides to do mastery quest and farm parts off grey he can get a really good kill/death ratio.

Keep in mind, highest SINGLE hit means NOTHING with respect to sustained DPS.

it's not really a class imbalance.

Im currently playing an assassin type and the backstab is the biggest damage maker we've got. And if you don't have good sneak skills it wont work anyways.

I have died on numerous occasions (or have broken off the fight) when my backstab blow doesn't land right. A cleric, fighter or what not can steadily bring them down with attacks, etc. After that backstab, us scouts are pretty much like mage's with daggers.....unless of course, you're very adept with HO's (and there not hard at all..just click the little flashy icons

This was my thought too...  What would be interesting is if they had the ability to post HIGHEST DPS stat info, but I doubt they gather the stats in such a way that this can be determined.

I think the damage is just a bug. If you notice 8 of top 10 are from the same guild. They probably just know something others don't.

this information is skewed. at lv. 50 assassins gain a skill/attack called "Assassinate"

its a one hit, stealth based, backstab that inflicts a heavy amount of damage. but, after this hit is done, and your target isnt dead, your kinda screwed, also, most people on the EQ2 forums say at lv. 50 this will only 1 hit kill a green con mob.

Actually, that would be pretty cool.. if after the damage the inflicted, put if the person survived the battle. :)

    That would suck to see:

    Class           Damage            Battle Result

    Assassin       2,239 Damage      Died

    :)

If you want to be a melee dd, I'd suggest going with swashbuckler/brigand.  Their positional attacks do a lot of damage and it's much faster to strafe to the side of the mob than try and go into stealth to attack.
  • CopertheRedCopertheRed Member Posts: 14

So in the midst of all this damage dealing disscuision, what about us poor mages? Do we get the short end of the dd stick? I realy hope that my conjurer isn't going to do the same amount of magical damage as a wizard or for that matter, a rogue.
