The Best Players Ever!!!

I just wanna say, I've been playing LotRO for a little while now and I can honestly say, the player community is the best I've ever come accross.  I've played FFXI, I play AoC, I've tried Mabinogi and Rohan Blood Feud, but none of these had had the great player community that LotRO does.

Everyone is so helpful, always willing to party, always willing to give advice.  Everyone seems very mature and RPing is awesome.

So, I just wanted to thank all of my fellow players for all the great help, and for being the best players ever!

PLAYING: NOTHING!!!
PLAYED:FFXI, LotRO, AoC, WAR, DDO, Megaten, Wurm, Rohan, Mabinogi, RoM

WAITING FOR: Dust 514

Best mmo community that I've ever had the pleasure of participating in. The game just seems to attract a more mature audience.

Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW

    Exactly

Its a game for people that dont care about rushing to "End game" but are playing to enjoy the "road and smell the roses"

LOTRO players play for game, and part of the game is helping others on their quests

    p.s.

    Just an example.

I needed help with last part of chicken quest. I asked a random guy standing next to me.

He said "Sure, i will help you"

Dude went with my chicken fighting mob on the way from Shire to Rivendell !

That is around 2 hours of following a chicken and getting no xp or any kind of quest reward.

Thanks to him I am one of few people that proudly wears the "Cape of the Cloock"

Okay "G".  Yea, lets all be as hard core as this guy and play games that only focus on PvP and go griefing a bunch of noobs 'cuz it's the cool thing to do.

This guy is too cool to be friendly, too cool for PvE, too cool for a game where you can actually make friends.

This guy doesn't know what that is.

The community in LOTRO is definitely great.  Sure you will find bad apples here or there but usually your request for help will be met or at the very least pointed in the right direction.

All of your theories are wrong. The reason older people play LotRO, is simple. They like led zeppelin, And robert plant likes LotR. Simple. :D... I would play it.. If i didnt have a crappy computer :D

I agreed the community was good some time ago but not any more. The community now is same as community in WOW, no guild no armor. And, all kinships are full leaves no room for new recruit especially the kinship don't need too many members to run a tiny instance such as School and Library in Eregion. And the major isntances required only 6 players.

So all you need is gather around 5 people and swap your alts to grind the instance.

Some kins thinking about the future 12-man instance. The community is very narrow development atm.

Larry if you have a problem with your kin why dont you leave it and stop spamming this forum with it? You are the problem not the game...

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

The LOTRO community isn't the worst I've seen. (That would be Guild Wars). For the most part, they are a pretty mature crowd.

Unfortunately, they are very quiet, very few, and very insular.

It's almost impossible to find groups, you almost never see any chat outside of Bree.  If you aren't in someone's kin, they act like they don't want anything to do with you. And kins aren't actually the most active in recruiting, most are simply content to stay with the same old players.

I guess maybe everyone is high level, and things are better in Moria. But being low level it sure stinks.

Levelling from 1-50 can be done VERY QUICKLY in Lotro.  It took me about 6 months.

I got caught up in helping others and roleplaying almost every night I played - and to be honest I NEVER cared about griding the XP to reach top level... I enjoyed being a 'Knight of the Land' helping others out and such.

The Community IS in fact the best I've ever known in an MMORPG and the RP community is awesome on LANDROVAL.  It's too bad I got so incredibly bored with the game itself, or I might still be playing...

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

I am from Silverlode as well and have been there since original Open Beta.  I have to confirm that the community there is excellent.  Most players will help you out regardless of what kin you are in.  For the most part they are polite and there is a tendancy to help new players.  There is very little king of the hill attitude and even the most hardcore of kin compete in a cordial fashion.  The only place where I have seen drama is on the PvP side of the game but I've always found this to be the nature of the beast.  Even then I find it mild in comparison to my previous PvP experiences in other MMOs.

Im on silverlode and the comunity there is one of the best i have seen in my 10 years of MMOs. From UO-EQ2 and all them inbetween asfar as kinships i have YET to find one that is not looking for new members. Try geting off your butt and asking in the advice chan OR looking on the forums. and as for armor its called doing quest >>. I got some damn good armor from those quest and then i started making my own. As for WoW. I played it and well i HATE it most of the comunity is inmature there are some nice ppl but not many. I have tryed all the servers. but that was back in TBC expantion

Oh. This kind of posts is quite rare to see. Happy to see that you also enjoy your visit in lotro. The community in this game, or the main mechanism in every the mmo, is really awsome and helpful as you said. Ive a feeling that all tolkien geeks are a kind and happy race roaming around in cyber space.  My favorite mmo memory is from this game when I had the pleasure to play some music under some apple trees in shire with...other players! (!).

Moar of this kind of posts.

This has quickly become my favorite MMO pretty much entirely because of the community.  Don't get me wrong, I love exploring the areas I read about in the books and I like the quests, but the community is just so helpful and mature.

I played FFXI for quite some time.  I enjoyed the game because it is a good game, but the community kinda wasn't what I wanted.  It was my first MMO and I was affraid other MMO's were the same, but when I started LotRO, right away I learned different.

I love the game, love the players, and love my Kin.

Oh, and I really like the fact that so many people are into RP in this game.
