So because Darkfall won we have made 100 new accounts each to vote? Lame, can't take the facs that this is a game that many looking forward to.
There are more active users online at Darkfall's official site then this one and nearly as many posts. So there are a community besides of this and many probably got a account here to.
You're just angry cause this e-peen war is in favor of the fans.
______________________________ The Sceptics, yes they're special but we've need them to.. I guess. And if they're put more effort MMORPG.com can create a 'Team Sceptic' and send them to the Special Olympus.
I'm looking forward to Darkfall and hope it'll have a smooth launch and live up to at least some of my expectations. And yes, I know very well what happened with DnL and Mourning... but for now the Aventurine guys deserve their chance.
Nope, he didn't. But he really had the right to say that to the trolls like you putting words in his mouth and trolling around, spending their whole day to give his work a bad name (what do you get out of this?). Before you say you're not a troll; "It should win for both 2008 and 2009." is a classical troll statement, no denying here.
"It is his own fault. They need to do some decent communicating with their fanbase. I am not a fan or something, but I feel sad for the people who are loyal fans, and still know squat about the games release in less then 2 weeks."
The real fans do actually know alot of the game and most people who followed darkfall for longer than one year are not complaining about a lack of information.
You might be right here.
But there is a major but. If this game fails to deliver, I will be all over your forums laughing, like you Forumfallers did before at my games. On the other hand, I am enough man, that if the game delivers, ill create a topic, asking for forgiveness... So you can mock me.
And btw, I am pretty damn sure Tasos said something like that. At the last dev chat with this site. It was then when I lost all the respect for this guy. A PR-guy should have atleast known is boundries, doesn't he?
PS: Yes, I know most of you guys are infact nice and such.. But I have been around on your forums, beeing polite (different name tough), but I didn't recieved anything buy sarcastic, flaming comments. When I left, and found my home at other games like TCoS (pre - launch), Mortal Online and now Earthrise, it are mostly ex Forumfallers who starts to troll, cry and yell about everything. Thanks to this I am beeing abit prejuidced (sp?) about you guys. I am offering my appologizes to the ones that aren't like this..
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2] according to wikipedia
there is a fine line between being a troll and having an opinion that is contrary to another person's belief. a troll say's "darkfall is the suxxor and so is everyone who likes it". a non troll states "according to the things i have seen since this game was announced and the lack of intelligent facts from the development team make me skeptical about the validity of this game.
one statement is to illicit a response and the other is stating someones opinion about darkfall and the qualifications it had to win the title which is on topic.
this is a two way strret though so not every person who show's concern about this games release is a troll and not every fan is a rabid dog attacking anyone with a different opinion.
please remember as lon as one person is enjoying a game then to that one person it is a good game and for that person it is ok to state it if the comment is on topic.
long story short what one lick of difference does it make if one person likes a game that you don't. your not playing it and in the scheme of things it doesn't effect you one lick.
ps i neither hate nor like darkfall it is not my perferred genre. the statements above can be applied to any game
proof that gaming companies should be pouring their development euros/dollars/pounds into DEVELOPMENT, not 50% development, 50% marketing. good games will market themselves. go darkfall!
Thats spot on.
Well done and a well deserved number one spot Aventurine.
I'd have to disagree. I just proxied my way into Spellborn and the game looks great. Mechanics are innovative, story seems pretty interesting. Overall a great first impression. Only problem: It's pretty much empty.
I have been following Spellborn for a few years and it shaped up nicely. Online reviews attested that the devs actually delivered on the majority of promises... Still, the game looks doomed from the start. There was (is) very little advertising. US release date still a mystery. The weirdest regional server split in MMO history (this also is part of Marketing if you remember your 5 P's...)
Ergo: Good game + Bad Marketing = Failure! At least in this case.
Darkfail ,the game with the most fanatical fans that rival religios followers in the middle ages... made 100 accounts each to get it a prize wich it doesnt even deserve to hear about... shows how good the community will be.
Well, I have no intentions at all at playing Darkfall and I voted it as the most anticipated game because I feel it "is" the most anticipated game.
It's perfectly feasible for players to look at these polls and vote with their head and not with their heart.
good point.
Im clearly a big fan of the game, but i also have lots of friends who I have gamed with over the years who absolutly despise PVP, but still agree that DF is the most anticipated and talked about game in development right now.
Some people just cant man up and admit they were wrong about it being vaporware.
Jury is still out out on the Vaperware thing!
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR. Playing EVE Online and AOC. Wtg for SW:TOR and WOD
I voted for it but not because I still plan on playing it after all this time. Frankly it could be the best game ever made and I'd have to pass. I'm just that sick of the medieval swords and sorcery platemail wearing spell slinging fantasy crap I just can't stomach it anymore. Hope it turns out well for those that can though.
I just feel kinda bad for these guys. Darkfall is the only game that could win this award and you can't really be sure if it's even a good thing. It makes me think that you could tell people the exact date and time four jumbo jets will collide over a major sporting event taking place. Sure a lot of folks will want to watch it happen from a safe distance but they sure as hell have no plans on being there to experience it first hand.
Given the choices, I suppose I have to agree with the outcome. Darkfall's release will be important for the MMORPG genre. If it fails it will show that the MMORPG community has to learn to stop blindly swallowing hype from developers, if it succeeds it will show that developers can treat the MMORPG community like garbage and there are those that will let them get away with it.

I have to agree with this. Whether the game launches or not, it'll bee good times on the forums. I can't wait till the 22nd.
Agreed. Can you imagine the sheer carnage that is going to unfold on the 22nd? It's going to be epic. Grab a front row seat.
No kidding. Little more than a week and we can finally see a conclusion to this bizarre, twisted tale. At this point I'm just so tired of all the stupidity that it's like you've gotten dragged into an unedited 6-hour director's cut of a movie but you're so close to the end you've decided to just ride it out.
This so-called release in ten days reminds me of a true tragic story.
Some ocean navigators before GPS like 20 years ago in a race were sending radio bulletins stating where they were supposed to be (besides a good position) then the first ships won the race and these navigators simply disappeared (suicide I think) because they just were hiding and sending bullshit and went crazy in the middle of nowhere.
Just because it’s talked about, doesn’t mean people like it. Technically, it’s safer to say the opposite is true. I would say the majority of its anticipation comes from people wanting to watch the Train wreck and discussing how they are implementing every failed/broken/exploitable/grief able system from ancient times when mmo’s were new, Games that had already removed them decades ago, as features. Tran wreck; true or not, we will see in 10 days.
that was because shit wasnt implemented right. lets hope they learned from the other games mistakes
Yeah....... uh huh.
yea its true all you have to do is look at eve
Are you even aware of EvE's past, or the game itself?

Pretty hard to anticipate a game that most probably does not exist. No known reviewer has even seen it, the NDA is still on with only 10 days before release. If that does not scream a huge scam, I don't know what does.
Anyone who anticipated this game has a huge problem with living in a fantasy world.
While I too looked forward to this game at one time the continued secrecy to Aventurine and the laughable antics of Tasos can only lead us to one conclusion, we are being april fooled 3 months early.
Was a joke that it wasn't noinmated last year, but I guess mmorpg.com wanted either AoC or WAR to win so it wasn't.
I am a hardcore fan of Darkfall and I think Aventurine has done an amazing job of keeping me informed and interested. I have no complaints at all, in fact all I need to know about the game pre launch I've known for months.
Lol i wonder how many 1 post wonders were created just do Dakfall could win this 'Award'.

It deserves the award as it is highly anticipated. Congratulations.
I will not play it ,if i cannot play on local servers. Not that i am against euro servers. Just so many things can happen to connections.
I will not pay for a download of a game online. I want a box and a CD.
This game promises the sky and we shall see.
What a sorry list of mmorpgs
Easy win, tho there are many upcoming games which I look forward to.
And to the 'sceptics':

I LOVE YOU: YOU ARE THE BEST GAME IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!
Darkfall deserves this award more than any other MMORPG ever has!!
Funny. A Google search for "Darkfall review" pulls up nothing but a bunch of reviews for this game:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Fall
The only review of any sort for Darkfall that I can find is the MMORPG Italia one. That's it.
proof that darkfall is going to bomb?
Ztyx.....same ztyx from DnL?
