I am interested can anyoone explain me how where those player made missions worked?
Is there any article on net to read about it?
How did that system work?
Can someone who played this game explain?

Its not as advanced or as "good" as some might make you believe. --
As a rank 4 or up in a faction you could set up missions for your faction members to join up for exp/credits
-in the end, missions really come down to 30mins to 1hour or more of walking around a colony till its over. then you get payed. =sure fighting can happen in that time frame, but its still a "join missions, wait till times over and get payed kinda deal"=
=The credit payouts on missions was garbage though -was a lot better when faction leaders could set the payout options-
=Experience only got you to rank 3 (all ranks after besides faction leader r7 required a higher rank to promote you) -your total experience just kinda shows that you've been on a lot of missions- =exp is pretty much useless, not that anyone wants it to be use full=
How to have fun in FoM:
Roll a police and throw grenades at other police. The crime system is very buggy and I have literally got away with murder.
Kill members of the neutral faction. I felt bad after a while because I killed a guy walking around with a full inventory of armor and weapons. I used these to kill other members of his faction.
How not to have fun in FoM:
Do Missions.

If you give the game 3 weeks to a month of your time, it will rope you in and never let you go. That is how good it is.
Its all down to whether or not you let the game draw you in.
If it grabs you, however, don't expect it to let go in a hurry.
In reply to your question, the player made missions are quite standard - although player made, most are quite similar - usually stay in a particualar area and watch out for trouble.
Although an integral and important part of day to day gameplay, this is not where the real uniqueness and beauty of the game lies. This is in the inter and intra faction politics and interaction.
There are 8 factions, each with different roles (e.g. LED are the police and MOTB are hired guns) and each controlled and run purely by players. This allows for spontaneous and exiting siuations to occur, leading to wars, civil wars, power struggles and alliances, all completly player run and utterly engaging.
Although FOM seemed confusing at first, once I started playing I was hooked.
GIve it a try.
As everyone else said, it takes some time to hook you. Once you get past the gankers and meet some people, you'll be hooked for a while.
quite a fun game, I suggest everyone who is on the fence join the community forums and follow the game, even a littlebit.
Hooked for a while? If you get really into it you,'ll never get over it, to be honest. FoM is a one of a kind game. Which is really worth the try.

It had me hooked in the beginning of open beta to the first Milestone patch, before they started changing so many things for the worse.
then I decided they changed so much stuff to be so completely aggravating that I was not going to pay monthly for it -Ive only watched as the game released,, and slowly killed itself- till now when it hopefully attempts to rise from the ashes of failure..
I'm still not even sure about their current plans (given the current updates 1-2-3) and the NEXEON guys who are handling servers =I don't trust the integrity of any of the well known FOM players, they were mostly exploiting/corrupt scum.=
============
Abuse of power ingame and out of game has always been an issue with FOM, and I dont see any methods to stop it.
Keep in mind Duplex had no power over their own game. Ojam had all rights over Fom, and are the ones who ruined it. As for Nexeon they are all legit, and good people. The CEO's were once my R4's(I was their department leader.) Now they are off being Business owners. Good job to them.
I played from Pre-MS1 to retail,a nd have to say FoM was a great game throughout. They are leaning towards less player control, but overall it still follows the spirit of FoM.
As for missions. They are just a way to give your faction members UC(Money) and put up activity/colony take over.
As many have said FoM truly shines with socal and political interaction. If you can't get involed and think about the community as one. You will hate the game, but just like the real world life isn't about you. That is my suggestion on how to enjoy FoM.
Potiential? Lots!
Where can you find an mmorpg+fps game that really is a player based game? Its so player based that now (the relaunch) of the game has provided a free account option (p2p option not sure atm) to play the game.
The game has its ups and downs, and not because of the game itself but rather real-life situations (the company/provider).
Make sure you, and the many other players out there will look forward in joining the game coz seriously... more players... more fun yea?
Hope to see all of you guys in-game soon. Please do sign up for the beta and register at the forums to mingle around with the community.
This is Setsuro and I hope to see you guys soon! ^^
Close-Beta (20th Feb 2009)
