WoW and Ryzom...how do you compare???....

I do not understand why people keep comparing WoW and Ryzom, WoW is a game based on a game. You play with races you allready know and you can allready guess what kind of worlds there are going to be. Ryzom is a unique idea, maybe some same skill system etc but it is a unique stand-allone idea. So you cannot compare it to something like WoW. So please dont say: they should have done...this...like WoW, or they should have done...that...like WoW. You just cant compare these two games. WoW I think shall be a good game, but it is something other then Ryzom.

    What is this craziness you speak of? All MMO's must be like WoW or EQ2. That is the new official guideline for MMO's. They must try to do what EQ2 or WoW does, just not as well. If they don't, well then they will be punished! image

    Current player of The Saga of Ryzom. I waited 3 months for promised live events in City of Heroes, it never happened. Ryzom had one in 2 weeks.

    i agree. there are lots of EQ and WOW fanbois around.

    it's one thing to play a game and like it. it's another thing to insist that everyone else like it.

    play what you like and move on ::::20::

    No this isnt a fanboy gathering because otherwise I would be like this: YOU CANT COMPARE RYZOM TO WOW BECAUSE RYZOM RULES AND IS THE BEST IT IS BETTER THEN ALL BLAH BLAH BLAH see.

    I just like Ryzom because its a cool game and im hooked to it.

    Look at the sig it explains everything.. You can't compare small potatos with greatness..

    As you can't compare Ryzom with the great World of Warcraft..

     

    I've played Ryzom and it was a fun game I'd say but I also have played WoW and well.. WoW all the way for me now.

    Only thing I would say to this would be to repeat an old axiom...

    It's a silly discussion really. Some will like WoW, some EQ2, some Ryzom and others will like <insert MMOG name here>.

    What does bother me is not when people compare games, but simply state that game X must be crap because it's not game Y.

    try to compare it with Knight Online or another crapy game

    Comparing MMO's is like comparing flavors of ice cream... some like Vanilla..some choclate..and others strawberry...it is everyones own individual taste that matters.

    I think we all would agree though that we would all love to find that perfect Bananna Split with all 3 flavors coming together so we could all KICK EACHOTHERS ARSSES IN ONE GAME!!!!

    Until then play nice respect others Flavors and Just Have FUN!!

    If I had to compare SoR to an ice cream cone it would be half a plain vanilla scoop with a hole at the bottom of the cone to let the dripping ice cream make a mess.
