Seems legit, maybe they are really going to lauch on the 22nd.
It would be a surprising departure from the over hyped, beta to play, learn all the exploitz before launch crap we have seen with the last few big MMO open betas.

The same people that are hyping DF like it's the second coming are going to be smashing it to pieces a month from now. It's pathetic.
Also looks like they are using analitics to get a read on traffic and how it is generated to the site. I would not be suprised to see ads up on the page shortly. I can respect that.

Actually you don't need a crystal ball for that. It happens with just about every new MMO release that is hyped up the way this one has been.
Many loyal AoC fans turned haters. Many of the loyal WAR followers now can't stand the game...
And so forth.
No reason to think it wouldn't happen with DF. It's part of the process.
Some people simply get their hopes and expectations up to levels that can never be met, then they feel let down and betrayed.
Happens with movies, music, etc. as well.

I agree. I think also, some become haters so that people don't remember that they were fanbois when it is no longer popular to be a fanbois of a game. Personally, I remain a skeptic of DF. If hell freezes over, and it is released and has all it's features and looks good and runs smooth, I will most likely find myself migrating to it. But again, that will take hell freezing over because I dont think Tasos has it in himself to deliver.

Posted by Tyvolus1 on The Pub forums (12/11/08): I first started visiting DF's website in 2000 I believe it was, I was still playing EQ with my original group of gaming friends. We were all very excited about the game and now 8 years later I wouldnt buy it if you paid me to. Hope it works out, but I see DnL part II. Again just my opinion, but if a game being in development for 8 or so years doesnt raise a serious red flag for gamers, then you deserve to lose your $$$.

I am definitely not cheering against you or the game, I just think there are some big areas of concern I see with this product, but in one short month we will all find out what is going on. And heck, if it is great I might even sign up, somewhere down the road.

With all the questions surronding this game it is amazing people still go to other games forums and say they are waiting on DF. Like the old saying goes, everything comes out in the wash -- and 1/22/09 is Laundry day !!

I do however visit the forums of the games I DO ACTUALLY PLAY, in order to keep up on the latest news, developments and what my fellow gamers are experiencing in the game, as well as to discuss the GAME I ACTUALLY PLAY and perhaps meet other players and find a guild or people to party with. You see, thats the point, I PLAY WAR, this is the WAR FORUMS, I play WAR and spend time on the WAR forums...is this starting to make any sense to you ?
And the forums of WAR (a game you dont play) are apparently "funner" then any games you are playing (according to your logic). Which only proves how ignorant you are to try and say the WAR forums are more fun for me than actually playing WAR -- I mean the WAR forums would then be "funner" for you then the games you would be playing....ummm, yes ?

You can stop the pretense now, Tyvolus1. People post on forums they don't actually play or have no intention of ever playing all the time, while having a game they can play just sitting there waiting for them to log on. Some people say you couldn't pay them enough and they'd NEVER play a game, then less than a month later, change their minds and say they might. (P.s. See you in Darkfall when it comes out one day.)
