Hi i just wanna share with you a few numbers:
- +300.000 users registered on forumfall. Ok I Know that a lot of people have multiple accounts... But 300,000 is a considerable number. We know that the most part of players don't bother to register and participate on forums.
- 74.500 visitors of "that web" that "talks" about darkfall. The hoping people check that web frequently to find underground things... This is the way that they count "hits": Site Meter defines a "visit" as a series of page views by one person with no more than 30 minutes in between page views.
Well... with this numbers and knowing that servers will fit 10.000 users... They really will need more servers... A lot of them!
All of this without adverticing... mmmph... great?
I just hope the game will be great like UO was. If it release...
See you on game!! or not...

I don't know, I keep hearing that their server technology is built around letting them increase the user cap as much as they want, whenever they want. I think they are going for more of a 'eve' approach.

Well, the first thing you need to do is hope the game comes out.
After that, then you need to talk server capacity versus subscriptions. Can it handle it? Can it not?
Then you need to think that not everyone on the forums will buy the game. Case in point, when EVE was developed we had over 500,000 users signed up on the forums. When the game was release in April of 2003, only 9,000 players joined. Now, it is up to almost 50,000 (and about 15% of that are duel boxers). So you cannot base forum membership to that of game subscriptions.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
The mechanics of df are not like EVE. I dont think that EVe system could work. Well... we will see...
I only compared it to EVE because EVE also only uses one realm. I was just saying that DFO's server technology allows for infinite scalability.

Yep. I missunderstud you. We will see what happens... I hope soon
I think its 250 000+ subscribers now.
That 50k figure most likely represents the most they've ever had online at the same time (actually its 47K)
The rules of Debate are really simple; once you have to stoop to insults instead of facts, logic, or reason to try and win your argument, you've lost.
Of course DF's mechanics and EVE are different but think about EVE's mechanics and the new Star Trek Online that would work definetely
