Ugh, Im so sick of people saying oh WoW's graphics are better than Eq2 or EQ2 graphics own WoW. Heres the scoop people, its all to do with style. Blizzard intended thier graphics to be more cartoonish so judge how close they got to thier goal before saying the graphics completely suck. Eq2 intended thier graphics to be realistic so see if they met thier goal as well. Please shut your mouth on the whole Graphic vs Graphic thing its not like WoW made thier graphics to be "realistic" or anything.
Sorry just had to vent a little
thx
EDIT--- By the way I personally think both Blizzard and SOE met its goal tho some EQ2 things Ive seen look kinda wierd.

Atleast WoW has good, non-repetitive gameplay And plus, I like WoW's graphics alot more. But I do agree, it's all based on opinion. I've been in both betas (Currently in EQ2) And I've gotta say, eq2 let me down big time. It so hard to know what to do next, you find yourself running around in circles just trying to think on where to go next.

Lol, yea meant to say I was in the ST not the beta But I am in the EQ2 beta .....and missing WoW sooooo badly...I'm gonna go pre-order the collectors edition tomorrow
Whatever it is called that I like WoW has more of. I like WoWs style, concept, etc. I dont doubt EQ2 has HIGHER level graphics but EQ2 uses those graphics in a way that is very displeasing to my style.

my 2-cents, they both do look good, eq2 is more realistic, and for that you have to have a super computer to see it heres my system
amd athlon64 3200+ OC'd to 2.4ghz
PNY geforce FX6800GT 256mb stock
1gb kingston hyperX pc2700 stock
thats all thats needed to know really, wow run perfect with max settings, eq2.. jesus i cant imagine what kinda pc you gotta have to run this game at top end, it runs worse than doom3, no kidding
so in closing, both look good, but only to what your system will allow, which means a butt-load for eq2, wow is ran nicely on a lower end pc, and that little fact would have a strong influence on me if i wasnt running a high end pc, even if i wasnt anti-soe

Played both betas but WoW looks great.
EQ2 yeh great grafics but thats all something is missing there?
Oh yeh its boring and game world dull comepare to WoW.
EQ has Claymation Graphics, and if you like that, fine. WoW has vibrant cartoonish style and if you like that fine.
But, in order to play EQ2, get ready to upgrade your system beyond what should be necessary - otherwise, the EQ2 graphics come across very unpleasent.

Let me add my two cents ...
I played in the WoW stress beta, and currently am playing City of Heroes. That is my basis of comparison.
CoH is like GTA with the background graphics, while the heroes and villains are top notch graphics, very detailed. NPCs get less attention to detail. Things like cars are very low level detail, as are trees, rocks, water, the sky, etc.
WoW in essence is the Warcraft III game brought to life. If you didn't like Warcraft III (which a lot of people didn't for the reason of graphics), then you are more apt to be biased against the graphics of WoW. Blizzard is not trying to go for a Doom 3/Half Life 2 quality. They are trying to bring Warcraft III to "life".
With that said, I would compare the avatars of WoW to that of CoH. There is detail in the characters themselves, not to mention adornments. However, WoW takes it one step further. NPCs are detailed, and the environment is very detailed, and very beautiful. I am incredibly biased, of course, but I thought it was just another fantastic aspect of the game, and made traveling to new areas even that much more exciting.
In CoH, you just don't get that, IMHO. Yeah, there are cool things to see, but it is nowhere near the same as WoW (the feel of a "journey").
There are also details in WoW, like rocks, trees, forests, the plains, the colors, etc. Is it "lifelike", like ground control? I would say no, but then, why should it be? It is its own genre, and it should stick to what made Warcraft (and yeah, Starcraft), so unique.
I never for one minute thought WoW was cartoony or the graphics needed work. If people don't like the graphics, then yeah, they can go play EQ2 or some other game with different graphics. Pick what you like and go with it. Life is short, but playing time for MMORPGs is even shorter.
