First Time Playing Monk

All I have to say is: woah! I didn't realize how fun it was to play a monk.
I generally exhibit some humor when creating character's and their names thus I ended up with "Phygly Stinkfinger", a 32 point bald female Dwarven Monk with a big nose. This character was not built using the Templates availble upon character creation and I have points spread out between Strength (17), Dexterity, Constitution & Wisdom. As I play for fun I really didn't care if I was making the "best template" and was only focused on something that could be fun.
For those who haven't tried DDO since Module 9 I deffintely recomend the Monk as a good character to solo through Korthos. With a few repeats for others who joined me afterwards and a pass through Water Works (which I haven't ran in about 6-8 months) the character was able to obtain 2 ranks into level 3.
The main thing I noticed with this character is it seriously kick arse!

I tried monk and i died alot
Monk was clearly the Alpha test for the LOTRO Warden class.
They really really need to add the Warden gambit UI into DDO so you can keep track of your combos. Especailly since things can get cleared for rather arbitrary reasons.
You shouldn't be dying a lot with a Monk especially if you go for the light path with all its healing abilities. And frankly you should not go Dark path as its sucks vbery badly compared to light path. Not an opinion there, it really does suck in multiple ways. They need to re-do the design.
One of the nice things about Monks and thier healing is that its based upon fighting. if you can break even after each fight you are golden. Whereas a spellcaster always wastes SP or charges/potions whenever they heal. Taht makes Monks a great starting class for people who can't afford consumables.
I just made a trial acct yesterday and decided to monk a try. I customized it since it's not dnd if I didn't imo. I find the class to be nice for the solo option.
I am glad that they changed the new players area. However, it sucks for a vet who could get through the old one quick lol. Now half the time I'm lost again. I think I may sub for a month just to get my higher lvl chars back. And the gear... I miss my feather fall boots.

I rarely use Feather Falling. Did you know you can jump from any height and as long as you're sliding down the side of a wall, pillar, stalagmite, etc, and not take falling damage?

My thing with my FF boots is because I have this thing with gliding down. My friends and I use to try to find the highest and most rediculoul places to FF from. Being a wiz I hit myself with the jump spell and it gets fun... To me at least lol.

monk is a relatively difficult role! i tried combatant! but if i have time i'll challenge monk again!
Monk is my favourite class, although I sometimes feel like I need more fingers.
