Actually that game wasn't a scam.. I know people who ordered , got their CD's and were even logging in and playing...
the game was just really unfinished.
They barely even took any pre orders to begin with.. it was like under 1,000.. pretty wierd scam for only a few hundred orders...
A ton of crap when wrong with Dark and light, the law suite did not help at all, the one for steeling technology (the game eng) and just changing the name among other things...
The Thread stater is really reaching here, alot.
Dark and Light did lauch the pre what ever it was to prep the world and economy, but when launch came, it was not going, too many things wrong from being pushed by investers and publishers to release, then the law suites for the tech...

Dark and Light was very much a scam. They took preorders (money) and subscriptions for a game that was what could be considered an "Alpha" stage of development. The world was huge and empty. Game features were missing. The game was horrible.
They took money to provide product that was clearly incomplete.
It would be the same as if Honda sold you a car that had no engine, no electronics, it was just a frame and some wheels that looked like a car, but was essentially worthless. That would be considered a scam just as Dark and Light was a scam.

Yeah, that's been the central point in the majority of the Beta Leaks I've read as well.
DarkFall has potential but it is so empty and so many Features not completed/turned on yet... that it is hard to form a complete opinion of it at this time.
That has been the main point that many of us skeptics have been trying to point out... TASOS was not telling the truth. The game is NOT Ready... nor is it Feature Complete.
Well today... it became evident that he wasn't telling the truth.
The question is now...
IS he telling the truth now?
We'll have to wait for some more leaks and or time to know the answer to that one.
If the NDA stays up past the 22nd... that should be a big Red Warning Flag for everyone.

I recommned NOT to preorder this game.
Wait for getting in the trial (if you are one of the lucky ones) or to read lots of reviews... but I think in this particualr game, trying it is essential to know if you will like it or not. It's sad that there wont be a free trial for everybody.
Btw, I guess you all know now that this game doesnt have aimed in the swings (I guess you all read the TTH interview). Saty tunned for a LOT of other surprises hehe

Why does anyone say stupid shit like this? It was a scam. The game was unfinished, and they didn't tell you that when they charged you. Unfinished to the level that there were no NPCs or PCs on 95% of that vast world, no way to level, no items, etc. On top of all that bullcrap, long after you cancel, they charge your credit card. The game was closed down by the French court specifically because it was a scam ran by horrible people that tried to steal from the customers, other businesses, and previous employees.
Who appointed you the scam police? How do we know you are not a different type of scammer? Why not drop the drama thread and let the consumers judge for themselves what is good or horrible or even scam.

Please don't associate AoC with DnL. DnL was not even a game. AoC was a game with a lot of bugs, and in need of more content and items. I'd liken AoC to Vanguard...no where near expectations, but a decent amount of people still enjoy it. I couldn't stomach any of them, but I still recognize AoC as a game.

Again though.. If you preorder you should know the risks you are taking. DO NOT PREORDER UNLESS YOU CAN RISK PAYING FOR A GAME THAT YOU MAY NOT LIKE. That is what a preorder is... buying a game you haven't played before. Don't be an idiot.

So, just because he is NOW changing his tune that it needs to wait a month... we should believe him? There was nothing from him but blind fanboism previously... so nope. When you play that card... you don't get a second chance.
It's too late to try and do the... "Yeah, I think they should wait a month too." That might have actually meant something if he had been saying that all along.

If the game launches it can't be called a scame. For it to be a scam, the game shouldn't be launched at all, or launched in such a state that the game is completly unplayable. Like the OPs game, but from what I read about DnL the game was unfinished, but not really a scam.
Not only was DnL unfinished, pre-order people were told they would have access to a special area in the game before everyone else came in for the regular game so they could get the pre-order money, but then at release it comes out that the "special area" is the whole game. People demanding their money back were bounced from Farlan ( the devs) to Click and Buy and Alchemic Dream ( the billing services ) and back and forth, each saying the other had the money. This went on for months, with some people finally getting their money back when several state and federal agencies were alerted.
Then, for over a year afterwards, poeple who quit after the first month or before ( including those who got refunds ) were charged up to hundreds of dollars when farlan billed their credit cards OVER A YEAR LATER, causing people to have to fight with their banks to get their money back again.
It then came to light that the Mafate engine, which powered Dark and Light, was stolen. Farlan even tried to skip France and start the game over through snailgames in China ( after being found guilty in court ). Snailgames is now bankrupt due to finding out they had technology they couldn't use due to the publicity of the Mafate engine being stolen.
DnL was a scam, pure and simple.
This is gonna sound harsh but the brightest thing an individual can do is just let someone else pre-order :P
There's always an influx of 250,000 people that hate money enough to gamble on a game they know nothing about, don't be one of them. There are a lot of good mmo's out there that wil tide you over. If you cba to resub then take a break. Don't let someone clean you out to fund his ferrari addiction.

Every good con requires a mark that wants to believe. Thousands of them want badly to believe over at the DF forums so no matter what you say it wont work. Face it Tasos is going to pull this off and all you can do is be glad it wasnt you helping him.
