GoonZu Online: Popular in the future or not?

I'm just wondering. This game has huge potential compared to other free MMORPGs, and if NDOORS plays their cards correctly, then this game could be a big hit. But if they don't, well...it'll just be another small MMORPG.

Oh, and by "popular"...I mean something like Flyff/Maplestory/Silkroad. Somewhere around that size for a free MMO.

I really like this game, despite the cutesy toon graphics. This game just needs to be bigger.

""But Coyote, you could learn! You only prefer keyboard and mouse because that's all you've ever known!" You might say right before you hug a rainforest and walk in sandals to your drum circle where you're trying to raise group consciousness of ladybugs or whatever it is you dirty goddamn hippies do when you're not busy smoking pot and smelling bad."

yeah it is a cool game, i think goonzu will work on that to make peoples animated faces bigger or simply you can just zoom in. i also like the graphics too but i think the gameplay is the most important thing of all

What makes Goonzu good to play is that a lot of content is user driven (not generated, driven). Economy, politics, town owning, crafting, mount raising, supply gatherings, even some things as crazy as the time of day when the bonus xp for hunting or crafting is applied is decided by a player.

This is what really sets it appart from other games, not the cute graphics.

awesome a player driven economy, so how long till a sub prime thingy crash and everyone jumps out of windows?

There are no mortages in Goonzu, the banks don't lend money, so I wouldn't know if that's something that could happen. I would say no, but I'm not completely sure.

what about rare items. They have inflated worth, they only represent virtual investment.

What if suddenly you cant trade these rare items anymore.

You have all your money tied up in an investment that you can't use.

    Exit window.

You are right, that could be a problem, but as they are rares, by definition, very few people will have significant ammounts of the items in question, so the economy serverwide would not be as badly affected.

well its been 2 years since the original post and the game is still going good. It not the size of maplestory though not sure about the others games listed. Maplestory at one time had 50 million individual accounts worldwide im not sure any game is going to surpass that.

I agree!!!!!!!! Goonzu is such a wonderful game but lately there are lots of bugs and problem in game. if they decided to make it a 3d i think goonzu will be one of the most wonderful MMORPG you'll gonna see and play. If we gonna compare this game to the other MMorpg in its age I can say that this game has a big potential to be more popular and many gamer will gonna like it.
