Star Trek Online: Planet Exploration Contest

Cryptic Studios is holding a Planet Exploration contest which tasks players with coming up with a piece of creative writing about a newly discovered planet. Prizes include special forum titles and access to the STO beta.
Part of the adventure that comes from exploring strange new worlds is discovering that planet's history and hearing the stories of its inhabitants. Imagine you have just entered orbit around the planet pictured here. Your mind races with the possibilities of what you will find. What is the planet's name? What or who lives there? Are they peaceful or antagonistic, welcoming or outright hostile? Are they long gone leaving only more mysteries to solve?
Tell us about the planet shown here as well as on the Planet Exploration contest rules page. You can tell a story of daily life of the inhabitants, make a scientific survey log entry, or weave any type of tale you choose.

Are Forum Tittle's anything like Tribble's?
I wanna be a forum tittle.
Beta doesnt sound too bad either.
I used to visit this site a lot however in recent years it has become the home of negative forum posts, illogical opinions and tantrums so I visit less often.
Played or Beta'd: UO / DAOC / Horizons / EQ2 / DDO / EVE / Archlord / PirateKingsOnline / Tabula Rasa / LOTRO / AOC / Champions / Darkfall / Mortal Online / DCUO / Rift / STO / SWTOR / TSW
I love this idea. They are fishing for game content ideas from the internet at large, rather than a small internal team. There will be a lot more interesting content found this way. I wish more companies would involve the gaming community in development on *all* levels.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
As much as I hate the everyone is a captain stuff, this is very cool. I look forward to this.
this is just lip service if they were too lazy to put the insides of ships in and let us walk around inside whats the point in putting planets in why even bother its just a half arsed attempt to pander to subscribers
This is a nice way to replace the lore department. Let the fans write the game and you will just pick out those storyes you liked the best.

Wait.... did I miss something? I was under the impression that there will be extensive inner-ship avatar activity. Perpetual toyed with excluding it but quickly backed down after a wave of negative responses. Then Cryptic took over and made clear that we will be able to move about and interact inside ships and stations as well as planets of course. The first official teaser trailer shows plenty of inner-ship combat.
the latest i heard cryptic say its impossible to let people run around inside their ships and use the consoles (and i think it was from the official site a couple of days ago) so they are going to make ships work like in EVE the truth of it is they are just too lazy to put it in since you can run around the insides of massive ships and interact with the systems and consoles in SQO which is already out on the market
